1. Rar is not native archive format and requires additional software while zip is supported by most systems.
2. WinRar is not free although you can use it for free.
3. You put single pk3 (zip) archive inside rar archive. That doesn't makes much sense to me. I don't think someone is reading readmes.
4. 7z is free, better format and generally more comfortable as a software if you ignore fact that it needs a manual setup once.

I think using zip is just more professional, but that is just my opinion.

CountryCide is a well made, very atmospheric mod. I enjoyed playing it, however:
- RAR is evil.
- Navigation without automap is pain.
- If you speak Russian, voice lines are more funny than creepy. Twitch bans are possible due to excessive use of word "pidor".
- Not playtested (impossible to beat without cheats at high skill levels). Not enough ammo to kill the boss. Even if you quickload after each hit or missed shot you will still need twice as much ammo.

Very annoying mod if you don't like dark cozy mazes and vines blocking your view. Still better than Apocalyptic Vibes or most commercial mods on Steam.

P.S I really recommend dev to get away from doom mod making and make a standalone game.

Please observe this screenshot. 1280x720 it says 87 fps but in reality 60-75. 100% GPU load. You clearly missing lightmaps and occlusion culling, pretty sure postprocessing decreases performance too. Too much blur. too much. People who play HL1 generally don't like "fancy" stuff like post process, shaky camera, SSAO and etc. Also i am pretty sure there is a few Quake styled movement controllers for UE

What have you created?

40 Fps on Ryzen 5 5600 and GTX 1660 while graphics is literally HL1.....
If i set 640x480 games i get stable 120 fps but so much crazy post processing and totally wrecked controls makes gaming impossible. Like some crappy fps asset.
It's so bad that I feel physically ill.

Is it some beta issues or game was designed to be that way?

With respect, thing you are saying don't make any sense.
1) Performance drop is only true for current version of the mod. I already was able to run mod on 200$ phone with stable 120 fps. (Patch coming in a few days).
2)Ironwail is just another fork of quakespam.
Quakespasm is a terrible engine. That does not support any of the modern models format such as MD3/MD5/OBJ.
3)The only level format it supports is BSP/BSP2 which is terrible format. Not only it is hard to work with but it is only very unoptimized and VERY limited. Fitting any level from stalker inside BSP will be impossible. Recreating each level will be very time consuming.
4)Quakespam does not support essential and necessary modding features, have no graphical improvements, and just terrible for running quake.
5)Also quakespasm has evil woke community lead by boomers that dont want anything new. Their idea of being deepened on old formats, trying to hack them is just generally wrong for any thing in this life.
6)Don't be victimized/zobmified by dishonest youtubers. There is no reason to use quakespams over FTE/DP/ID engines. I can give you another 100+ reason why DP is better but if it is not enough think why they ignore or spread disinformation about DP/FTE in their videos. Also pay attention for how many standalone games are using DP over quakespam.

So far you cant lower lighting setting and use flashlight. That will give you stable 250 fps.

Models are already very downgraded. The problem is level itself. The engine does not know how to cull lights and level geometry in .OBJ levels since no one really cares about modern formats. So engine renders whole level, every light, every entity on the map. It doesn't matter whether it is visible or how far away it is from the player. I have an idea how to fix that. Will try to implement in a next build.

Thank you for quick respond. I still recommend including readme text file inside the game archive. It is a good practice. I completely disagree with you about controls. RE3 allows you to run into wall and if you do so you will move alongside the wall while in your mod you will just stuck in the wall until you backpedal or do a 180 degree rotate. It is just very painful.

Simply unplayable. I never seen such insane camera bobbing/shakes. Are you developing DOOM mod or some Stalker shiiish for Tarkov fans. It took me just 15 seconds to get dizzy. Both side slide doors activate at the same time so the slide in each other and remain closed so you can even exit first level.

Its prob antivirus, download darkplaces engine (> 2019 not 2014), put it in folder. Rename data folder to "id1"
