I have to ask any of you, who can't start the linux version of the game (no matter deluxe or free), to send us a letter to bugs@opengamestudio.org with the following info:
1. What Linux distribution are you using?
2. Is it a 32bit or a 64bit distribution?
3. Are you using the standalone version or starting the game with Desura client?
4. Attach the ~/.OGStudio/Mahjong/log.html file to the letter.
5. Attach the ~/.OGStudio/Mahjong/game.cfg file to the letter (if it exists).

We're going to release the 1.0.2 version at the end of the month, and we want to solve the problems you encountered.

Hi.
That's very strange. I'll check this out as soon as i'll download and install Mint 14 on my machine.
But as far as i can see, maybe you're trying to use the game that compiled for 32-bit system with 64-bit system. Please, check that the 64 bit version of the game is selected in the desura client.

Hi! Thank you for your question ( if it was a question :) ).
We're planning to make a classic chinese mahjong game mode in OGS Mahjong 2. With network support and other stuff.

Hi.
Ubuntu 9.04 is more then 3 years old and uses an older version of GLIBC than required. Since it isn't an LTS version, Canonical no longer releases software updates to it. Please consider updating the system to one of the more rescent versions (10.04 or 12.04).

Hello!
You have more than enough processing power. Unfortunately, your video card is not that powerfull (almost all integrate video cards are bad then it comes to 3D graphics).
You can try "low" graphic settings and lower resolution. If you play in window, try running the game in fullscreen mode.
Or you can buy a video card. Something like good old GeForce 8600 should be enough to play this game and many other games with good framerate and good graphic quality.

Thank you!
You can turn off the automatic camera movement, if you want.
We'll try to make the win sound less boring.

If you're trying to run the desura version of the game via command line, you should use the desura_launch_Play.sh script, not mj.

That's strange. The freeimage library should have been installed with the game by desura client itself. Can you tell me, what version of the game are you using (linux or linux64)? And what linux distribution?

KaiSD @ OGS Mahjong updated to Version 0.9.1.

It's worth trying. If you use minimalistic graphic settings, the game runs on EEE PCs with Intel GMA on board. Radeon 9550 should be enough for medium detail level. Please, let us know about your results. There is a link in a graphical settings interface, that leads to our forum topic about the system requirements and graphic settings autodetection.

What PC configuration do you have?

The update, that will fix the problem with settings, in on it's way.
But you can fix the problem on your system by editing the config.

Open <your home folder>/.OGStudio/Mahjong/game.cfg in your favorite text editor (gedit for example). Find a "Language" line.
Try to set
Language = en
or
Language = de

After that the settings dialog should work.

In Windows the game.cfg is located in <My Documents>/OGStudio/Mahjong folder.

We have fixed this problem, but it'll take some time to make a patch.

Right now you can use this workaround, described in the answer above.

Thank you for the kind words.

You can turn of the "Dynamic Camera" option in the "Game" tab of settings window. This will disable the camera movement when you move the mouse.
