true, when one considers all aspects of the game and the community, the average demographic isn't a shock. outsider friendly themed game with an active and comparatively ancient community based around sharing free content.

Even though I never got banned in both the doomworld and zdoom communities, I just left them altogether - you can't win over people there who label you as a "hater" the moment you make a valid criticism/comment or a bunch of elitists putting down an incoming modder because their "tastes" don't align with one another. I never knew how disgusting the community can be.
yeah it's foul. i got banned for 2 weeks for pming a guy who was asking for it in a thread, the excellent Perditions Gate wad. i had asked him not to report me to admins because i thought it might be illegal to send him that file. he then got paranoid and suspicious that i was sending him a virus, so reported me. a two week ban was a shocking overreaction of a punishment, i thought. i went under the name versionfiv and was only active for a couple of weeks in march or april of this year. my posts are still there, i just never went back as well.

A 2-week ban? Seriously, just for that? I mean a warning would have been better but I don't think it's a valid reason for someone to be banned altogether.
I know that there are those in zdoom who hate moddb.com (I can't remember who said it) but I don't care about their opinions anymore and I'd rather hang around here instead.

zdoom forum is probably worse, i only ever browsed there though. i mean, that crazy german who codes gzdoom is admin over at zdoom.
