Well, come in. What do you want?
I don't know to be honest. It could be some problem with the patch, or maybe you are doing something wrong. No idea.
Explain further please.
AFAIK you can't, pretty sure you can take down the helicopter tho.
No, sorry. Limansk and the Red Forest are off limits.
Its explained in the download section.
No faction selection menu friend. You start in the bloodsucker village. Follow the mission, and a squad will lead you to any faction base you want. Once there, you need to talk with the faction leader, do missions for them, and once you are trustworthy you can join. Mercs can be joined inmediately.
I mean, you are a loner by default, right? You meant that companions are not available for loners?
Do it properly.
Understandable, STALKER itself is a bugfest, Clear Sky in particular, and the mod certainly doesnt' help. You really have to endure the bugs/crashes, but as you said, the idea is really fantastic so its worth for some.
Not compatible with anything.
None as far as I know.
its activated as soon as you install it. If you do it properly you will see the mod name somewhere at the bottom.
No, olvidate.
If I remember correctly, the mod itself is a simple .exe file. Patches are .rar files, so just unpack and drop when necessary. If the extracted folder is named "gamedata", then drop it inside the game root folder (i.e steamapps/common/stalker clear sky). If there are several extracted folders named things like "config" or "scripts", then drop those inside the gamedata folder. Always overwrite when prompted, and apply patches in the correct order.
And no, you need to gain some goodwill first. You can always play as a merc (no goodwill requirements).
Completely remove your gamedata folder, then carefuly follow the install instructions.
No idea, sory.
Smoq's involment is most likely over forever, so take that as you will.
I can help you if you need. Send me a PM.
I think your reply is really spot on. Not much to add to it. In the end, every new game is a throw of dice. Even though some factions are inherently stronger (having access to better weapons/armors/squads, or better locations), you really never know what is going to happen. I remember that in my first playthrough as Freedom, I didn't get to see one faction (not sure if Defiance or Clear Sky). The next time I played (as Duty, if I remember correctly), I dind't get to see the other one (boths times I left Cordon and Swamps for the last, I always found them lame-ish).
Regarding the question, I would say they compete for them, but its just a wild guess.
Sory for the late reply. It was a tough week, and the question is a bit too technical for me, so I let it slip. Please remember I'm just an uploader, and while I try to do my best, I have no real knowledge of how the mod itself works.
Since you already dealt with 2, 6 and 7, I will try to answer the other ones. Please, reply with the answers to those questions, in case someone needs them in the future.
1) It's been a while since the last time I played the game. I dont recall any blue troops. Those are squads, right? They are not things like techs or trades? Speculation, but maybe they are there to prevent total destruction of Loners?
3) I have absolutely no idea, sorry.
4) If you mean from enemy factions, then yes. But the same applies in all cases I think.
5) I posted some links to the original posts made by Smoq. If not there, I have no idea.
Hope it helps in some way, sorry for the delay and the lackluster replies.
Yeah, it really becomes a great sandbox experience. And yes, its a pitty that Smoq couldn't finish all the features.
I would certainly say the mod is not balanced. Some factions are stronger than others. That being said, there is always that one fluke when bandits conquer everything, making it more interesting!
digitalifeless It would be quite easily explained by low graphic quality settings. It sure looks like I'm playing in ultra low or something. The thing is I have almost every single setting to max except grass density, specular and the sun shafts things (with DX11 1920x1080). And I think the only one I have in "default" is the ambient occlusion. I also dont play with DoF on. Screen from the settings Ibb.co
My main issue is that I have never notice any of these things in all my other STALKER playthroughs, playing all the vanilla games and several other mods.
I will try out some reshade, but again, I find it odd that I never noticed all of these until now. I'm sure something is not working properly.
