Exactly! If Revision was released through Moddb; I bet Square Enix wouldn't even have noticed and seeing that the SDK is open and not being monetized through this venture; there is absolutely no legal basis for complaint in my view and even if SE were miffed; they wouldn't even entertain taking it to a legal level because Caustic wouldn't be liable to pay financial compensation as it's a non-profit product produced on an open public development platform - the only thing that would materialize is Square Enix being out of pocket on legal action fees and the mod would be removed on request which would make them anti-gaming essentially and not do their already weary reputation any favors. SE are too busy counting the cash on their Tomb Raider exclusives these days anyway to give a monkeys about mods for games that the wont detract from their current and future portfolio.

If this Square Enix nonsense drags on; I don't think I'll even bother buying Mankind Divided and support SE anymore. This should have been resolved weeks ago or even last year before the mod was completed. Now it's finished and there is a barrier to entry; it just leaves me with a bad feeling that SE could throw a spanner in the works. They should have just released the mod under the table and SE wouldn't have blinked an eye.

I think they should have just released the mod without Square Enix approval. They are usually too busy milking season passes and cosmetic DLC for the likes of Tomb Raider these days to notice anything else going on in their franchises.

Fingers crossed we get an update soon else I'll have to continue getting PILLS against my orders to cope.

I'm sure everything regarding Square Enix will run smoothly and the project will get the greenlight. If anything; this mod should showcase how powerful the Deus Ex brand is and will always be. SE should embrace the significant community interest and the hard work that has gone into creating Revision over the years. Keep up the good work and keep us posted on the developments that follow!

I bet the first customer will be Activision - it's about time they upgraded their engine from 1998! If they do come knocking; charge them $3,000 a minute;-)
