I grabbed the demo for this and survivor off LGP before buying here. In both cases I get "Cannot open shared library /usr/lib/alsa-lib/libasound_module_pcm_pulse.so". Ive removed vorbis in its lib, made sure everything is installed etc. If the demos worked I'd likely buy both games.

Just played the demo in Fedora 19 64bit Linux. Worked flawlessly. Was pretty fun and well designed. Not normally my kind of game but I just bought the full version. Good work!

Running ProjectZomboid on Linux is a mystery... OoooooOoooooOoooooo...
I really get sick of the "It doesnt work here." - "Use steam.". If it wont work on Desura then please dont offer it on Desura. (wrong name: zombie/gameStates/MainScreenState$ScreenElement)

I have not been able to get it to run on Linux even with the Oracle java. Additionally attempts to verify it simply result in Desura crashing. Im an SA with over 20 years of experience and I deal with java coders and tomcat all freaking day. I cant get this thing to run.

libwx_gtk2u_richtext and libopenal is missing from the lib directory on linux. Really should not be reliant, as much as possible, on any system level libraries. libopenal is easy enough to fix. The libwx, for many, is an entirely different story.

Perhaps one thing to note is the repos version of 2.4.1, for me, no text from intro or mail, etc appears. For example, the introduction text shows as "intro_sentence_1" 2 3 etc. Mail is blank with blank icons and so forth.

Im in Fedora but make sure you have all your SDL packages insatlled. Also try running it from the terminal and see what error message it gives you. That should provide a good idea of what you might be missing.

Any plans to move from 2.3.1 amd64 for linux to later versions here on desura anytime soon? I only see 2.4 and thats for windows. Yet in my repos for Fedora I see 2.4.1. I like the idea of showing support via desura to know us Linux users are out here but Im perfectly fine with just using the repo download or using the source directly. Whatever the case, just want to also again reiterate, great game, great work, please keep it up and if you ever decide to look for funding you got it from me.

Some might say this is 1995 etc but so far not only in graphics quality does it surpass that but you see things like arrows sticking into walls, falling on the ground, teleport pads, monsters doing stuff they dont even do in the highest MMORPGs today. Im very impressed. Hope I have time to get into the scripts side of this.

Thanks but effectively the same error but now the class shown above. I just did a simple replace of the other reference with that posted above.

Exception in thread "main" java.lang.NoClassDefFoundError: zombie/gameStates/MainScreenState (wrong name: zombie/gameStates/MainScreenState$ScreenElement)

I dont have nor will I use Steam and I wont debate the reasons why.

So I post in the "tech support" here, understandbly more dead than the PZ forums. Ok... I register with the PZ forums to post the error. Ah... Perfect. Just collected my email and I not only CAN NOT post a new thread but I CANT even reply to a tech support thread. Wow. I have like 3-4 2-5 dollar games on here that work, are fun and allow me to post, and many reply, for tech support. Hmmm. fsck this.

Bought without a demo because a friend has it running. Should have stuck with my instinct because it is missing classes within its own jar files and will not run. Not sure what version difference he has over mine. Fedora 19 64bit with Sun (Or *ack* cle) 64 JDK doesnt work.

Just want to say enjoying the game very much. Some sort of "zoom" feature in window mode and multiplayer would just be brilliant in my humble opinion. Regardless, you reach a full production phase you've got my cash if you ask for it.

Thanks!

On fedora I had to install a good number of the SDL packages so my suggestion is any package, including 32bit and 64bit, with SDL in its name install them. If you tell the system to install them all it should clean up any conflicts.

Once I had the SDL packages installed the game works like a charm and its a very cool rogue game. Im enjoying it quite a bit.

You ever reach a full production etc you've got my cash. One nice feature though might be some sort of zoom, even if fixed, when in window mode.

Seems this forum gets a better response so here goes:
DEMO - Fedora 19 64 bit, nvidia.
This looks very cool but unfortunately under Fedora 19 it simply, so far, will not run.yum -y update
yum -y install libXt.so.6
yum -y install libXcursor.so.1
yum -y install libssl3.so
yum install libgtk-x11-2.0.so.0
yum install adwaita-gtk2-theme.i686Still at this point (not to mention many other attempts and "fixes") it still refuses to run.Currently I see:1)Or border with what appears to be a shell menu bar (presume it forks its own shell?)
2)Hangs for a good 1-2 minutes.
3)Spews:
[d0@cog neo-scavenger]$ ./NEOScavenger
(NEOScavenger:25642): GLib-GObject-WARNING **: instance with invalid (NULL) class pointer
(NEOScavenger:25642): GLib-GObject-CRITICAL **: g_signal_handlers_disconnect_matched: assertion `G_TYPE_CHECK_INSTANCE (instance)' failed

So far straces, gdbs, electric fence, selinux, google/ixquick research, etc have provided no help.Thanks.

PS. wtf do I need adwait theme junk? Odd.
