Wow, this looks amazing. I'm tracking now :)

That is AWESOME. I wish I had a dreamcast
I'd recommend 7zip. Its free and easy to use.
Wow, you guys keep raising the bar when it comes to modding Half-life. Can't wait to try it out when its finished.
This is a great mod, I'll try to play it again sometime.
"Pass the whiskey!"
Done!
Good luck with your dissertation- and thanks for the invite!
An indie game? If you mean to sell it for profit, no.
Eventually we'll have an update with more content to come out.
Putting just the pk4 in the fms folder should be enough. Darkmod will automatically make a folder for the .pk4 file.
If it persists, either check this FAQ (http://modetwo.net/darkmod/wiki/index.php?title=FAQ#FM_downloaded_but_won.27t_play) or ask on our forum.
We're quite proud of that :D
If they don't work, try the mirrors at the bottom of this page Mindplaces.com
Hm, does this FAQ help in any way? (http://modetwo.net/darkmod/wiki/index.php?title=FAQ)
If not, you could register on The Darkmod forums. Heres the link (http://www.modetwo.net/darkmod).
Try uninstalling the FM on the menu and install again.
Did you start darkmod from doom 3? Because you need to run it from tdmlauncher.exe
The file is only about 5 mb, it connects to a mirror thats hosting the Darkmod files, which is about 1.4, 1.5 gigs
What are your specs?
Darkmod has very large map files, even when it says please wait, there can still be a large wait time, depending on your machine. Try it again and let it sit for longer. If it still doesn't load, than we'll see what can do from there.
bradford28,
oh dear indeed. I remember on earlier builds people were having menu problems, but not like yours. I'll tell someone on the team who would be more knowledgeable in that area.
You'd probably want to go to our forums and ask there(http://modetwo.net/darkmod/index.php?/index). Our animators and coders would be better suited to answer your questions.
Which type did you download?
If it was the zip file, the instructions are
* extract into the C:\Doom3\darkmod folder
* extract the included ZIP files: tdm_shared_stuff.zip and tdm_update_win.zip
For Linux:
* extract into the ~.doom3/darkmod folder
* extract the included ZIP files: tdm_shared_stuff.zip and tdm_update_linux.zip
Hmm, have you tried restarting your game? If they continue to not show up on the list, go to doom 3/darkmod/fms/ and create a folder for whatever fm you downloaded, so lets say for example: you downloaded outpost. Create a folder called outpost. Move outpost.pk4 into the folder. Open the .pk4 file with some sort of achiving program (like 7zip) and extract the following files: darkmod.txt, install_splash.tga, readme.txt and startingmap.txt.
Now go back into Darkmod and see if it appears on the list.
Yes, Darkradiant is a heavily modified GTKradiant specifically designed for making Darkmod maps. You can use it for doom 3 and other doom 3 mods, but its main focus is TDM.
Oh believe me, its nothing like Deadly Shadows. Its completely first person, no sparkling loot, no blue ambience, etc etc.
Of course, the point is, things may be incomplete or not quite ready for release, so we have to start small and build up the other planned features from there.
As cool as it would be to see Thief 1 and 2 remade, we cannot due to copyright.
This is from our FAQ:
"
Q: What about copyright issues?
We will be making no references to any Thief trademarks or Eidos’ intellectual property. The Dark Mod is not Thief--there is no Garrett, no Keepers, no Mechanists, etc. However, since both Thief and The Dark Mod are based on a steampunk version of our own history, there are plenty of similarities."
Nice video cast guys. Keep it up.
Sorry about the long wait. Yes, we do plan on releasing Black Heart Manor as a mission.
I'm sad it didn't run well for you. Have you looked at our performance tweaks page?
Also, here is our wiki page on our Saint Lucia demo
Modetwo.net
Hope these help you if you try it again.
Since TDM is our own universe, it isn't thief. The "hammerites" in the video are actually known as The Builders.
This looks amazing, can't wait!

I like playing video games, but I more like to make maps and mod the games my self. I've always been making maps and trying to mod my games, since I was a kid. I have a lot of half-life mapping and some modeling and texturing. I also like Half-life 2 and Doom 3. I like to take a game I like and make my own chapter, my own piece that I can create, I can personalize it, customize.
