So, I guess the UI is in OpenGL.

I think joeka is right, installing in ~/.desura or /opt/desure is the way to go. You schould also only provide a tar archive as download and let distributions repackage it for you. That would makes things easier, because there are a lot of software, which doesn't allow redistribution.

You can still uplaod it as image.
I still have to think about some nice summary, but I feel too lazy now.

I don't know what you think about it, but being "nerdy" has not a good reputation. I use Arch Linux for myself, but I have social contact with other human beings. ;-)

It would be nice if you could change the Summary and Logo to something neutral. A big fat image of Tux would be a good start, with some distro logos from the top 10 from distrowatch, as suggested below me.
