Never been better in fact!
Never been better in fact!
The muzzle flashes, MP40 animations and material are all due to be replaced.
Can't speak for the Festung team but we are definitely alive and kicking.
We are all about the historical accurate, realism and teamwork... and free of course.
Well that's embarrassing! Well spotted.
Tempting offer and you nearly had me at the Middle Earth poster.. But sadly not.
We are working hard to get the game finished so we can share it with the community asap but we want to do the job properly!
Well spotted. There are a number of visual improvements which we plan to make before release - these are all WIP :)
It was a fantastic day out - even without the constant discussions of the game's development :)
Multiplayer only correct. At the moment we're saying 32 but we're aiming for more - large scale testing and optimisation needs to take place before we can confirm that though.
The game is tactics and teamwork based so you can expect team-orientated gameplay with objectives for teams to focus on. The "standard" gamemode isn't Battlefield conquest but along similar lines.
OVERLORD won't feature bots as good and realistic AI is a massive job. Maybe in the future.
Our class system does limit the number of kits issued of each type to ensure that teams are well-balanced (and not all snipers for example). Balancing isn't finished yet but we will if necessary limit some kits to just one per team.
In short: Maybe yes
Sorry but there's only one answer to that..
"As long as it takes". We're working hard on the game and making good progress but it's massive job. It will be finished and released though - just not quite yet.
We're still announcing new weapons so we aren't ready to confirm the final number but so far I think we've shown more than 10 and we aren't finished yet ;)
We'll include as many polished maps as we can in OVERLORD but we'd rather hold one back which isn't quite right than release it unbalanced.
We want the game to be as realistic as possible and that means a true variety of weapons rather than the 8-10 we all know well. Takes longer of course but we think it's worth the effort :)
Thanks for noticing!
Updates are on the way don't worry. We're still hard at work on the game.
Yes - Generally because they're suspicious about why we are which is understandable really.
The German characters are going extremely well but the sheer amount of variation which existed in the German army means we aren't quite ready to show them to the community.
Afraid not. We aren't planning a closed alpha/beta at the moment but that may change in the future. IF we do then we'll make an announcement over at www.tractionwars.com first before third-party sites such as here.
The muzzle flash is pretty awful but thankfully it's only a placeholder, it will certainly be replaced with the sort of realistic unique particle you describe.
Without giving too much away - customisation will be possible but only within the bounds of historical accuracy. For example it would be completely unrealistic to everyone to be able to attach a sniper scope to their rifle - unlike standard equipment such as bayonets.
There is currently no singleplayer or co-op mode planned for Traction Wars.
Correct. We're working hard to ensure machines such as yours will still be able to play the game smoothly. You won't need a monster gaming rig don't worry :)

Apologies for any offense caused tk210. The term was used in the context of Europe 1939-1945 and was never intended to suggest otherwise.
I'm not normally one to jump to a developers defence but having bought the game for 35 USD I have to say I think it's completely justified.
Even as a beta the game feels easily good enough to justify the extra cost. If big studios expect us to pay over the odds for half finished games which are effectively the same why can't Indie developers ask us to pay less for something new and exciting?
A sale would be nice but lets remember folks Indie developers aren't exactly renowned for being cash rich. They need every penny they can get most the time ;)
I can see why you say that but in this case that is exactly how it should look - see the reference at the top of the article.
I hate to say it but when it's done.
We're making good progress but we're not yet ready to set a date and risk over-running and disappointing everyone.
Good suggestion which we will do once we start performance testing and we're able to give a better estimate.
Hello from the South Coast! (Southampton more specifically) Great to find a UK group :)
Your quite right the vanilla Crysis Wars tanks aren't very realistic but we plan to overhaul tanks (and vehicles in general) both in terms of their handling and damage behaviour. At the end of the day we want tanks to feel and behave as realistically as possible whilst at the same time keeping the mod fun and dynamic.
I hope that answers your question. :)
Unfortunately I'm unable to say when we'll next publish a news update as we like to do our work justice and not show incomplete content. There is no fixed timetable for publishing news updates but we try to keep them as regular as possible.
I hope that answers your question.
