And according to the developers themselves, that's ********.

Awe-inspiring. 2009 can't come fast enough.
Personally, I think it should say 'Theatrical' instead of 'Official', it was THAT good.
Once again, brilliant work! The trailer should be something special.
Excellent! Can't make it unfortunately (I'm a Brit), so I look forward to the recordings!
Powerpuff Girls, hands down. Imagine a 'Meet the Beat Alls' level! It'd be ace.

They may not be official releases, but there is a lot there to keep you occupied.
Aliens or HUMANS. It was far more vague =/
Yes, a four-player co-operative is being included with the mod. Just typing that makes me giddy with excitement.
Or hang them from their balls. Whichever works faster.
Ah, so you're keeping to the 31st December 2009 release date then? Good.
Nobody outside the team can give a definitive answer, and the team won't answer. But, if I was to give a guess, I'd say you're going to be playing it before the end of the year. Which gives them eleven months. Don't hold your breath. =D
I'm seriously looking forward to this mod. It's amazing just what has been squeezed out of the engine. Definitely downloading on Day One.
Just in case anyone hears this from FPSBanana or Interlopers, Black Mesa is not being released in April next year.
This mod is a must. Cannot wait to play!
Box and Manual all the way. I do like Steam and all, but there's nothing sweeter than that new Manual smell...
The 'last' Media Release klay was on about was Media Release 9. He meant that the topic was about the LAST media release, as in previous.
Just spent a bit of time with PD:S, and here's a very small review:
The Good:
- Visuals are excellent, great models, maps and effects (not to mention the HUD)
- Sound is equally as good - especially the music, which doesn't intrude to much
- Nice aiming system
The Bad:
- The maps, while pleasing on the eye, are incredibly cramped. Especially 'Ravine'
- Starting with no weapon - while true to PD - doesn't suit the gameplay that is inherent with most Source-modded FPS's
The Ugly:
- Spawning points are awful. Makes the lack of weapon at the start even more of a problem
- Punching is nigh-on useless
- As said above, the blurring effect is very irritating
So, whilst I commend the design and work that has gone into the look of the mod, I can't help but feel quite disappointed by my experience.
Overall (remember kids, this is a BETA): 6.5/10
Haha, that's what I thought for a brief moment, but then I realised that the whole of GamerNode was down. Now everything is back up and running - but with the Community Project closed, I'd expect a Media Release to be... soon :)
Excellent work, there! Can't wait for the full version!
Are there plans for any other backgrounds?
Sig220, I think it is perhaps more likely that Black Mesa: Deathmatch would be released as the 'Demo'.
It would make a lot of sense, to be honest - you could give the public a small amount of weaponry (Crowbar, Glock, MP5, Magnum, Grenades and the RPG for example) and one or two levels. It wouldn't be terribly hard to do, and it wouldn't require remaking Uplink.
I would - personally - be more than satisfied.
For me it has to be Creativity. It forms the basis for Gameplay and Atmosphere. Look at Killer7, for example. It's gameplay and visual style was born from Suda51's and Grasshoppers' creativity.
