No. Portal 1 engine is preferrable to some, while portal 2 is preferrable to others.
I find portal 2s engine much more "realistic" like no bending arcs sideways like in portal 1. If your trying to find everyway to get thru a level, yes the portal 1 engine is preferrable. But i like portal 2s better.

It looks neat. At first, though, its sorta hard to decipher because that front pillar lines up exactly with the building floor.
