At any point in the game you can go to "Winnersvale". Winnersvale will be a small town that has rpg like mechanics. You can go here and interact with everything there. There will be lots of buildings that you will be able to enter. There might be AI, but I am not sure if i am capable of making good AI in the time i have left for the game and the fact that i am still learning to code does not help either. Don't expect AI, but it might be there. Winnersvale is going to be kind of like a demo of my new game that will come out(in maybe a year or so) and that will definitely have AI. The new game will have a lot of differences and winnersdale will be much different, but I am using it to try out my RPG skills. Winnersvale will be a very big part of FatManPlatformer.

A few days off

I haven't updated in a long time because i was in Yosemite National Park for a few days. I had no internet connection there and couldn't bring my computer to work on the game so i had no way to do any work or post. I just got back and am going to start working on the game again. New screenshots should be up withing a few hours and the page will be active again. I am glad to be working on the game again, though it was very fun in Yosemite.

In the beginning of the game was making very simple levels based off of cubes and spheres. These levels will still be in the game, but they will only be intro levels. Everything I've done so far is only going to be world one. I am giving the game a complete makeover, new and better graphics will be in world 2, as i am calling it. I can't say everything about it but it will be much different than what Is currently in the game, Anything that you have already seen of the game is still going to be in the game but is only the beginning. The game is going to be much bigger than I expected it was going to be, maybe a little too big. The release date is going to stay the same, though, so don't worry about that. I might be biting off a little more than i can chew, but if I can pull it off, then the game will be MUCH better than it is right now. I am looking for a little more fast-paced times in the game, the same slow jumping from cube to cube kind of aspects will still be in the game, but I am going to add a LOT of new features to the game. I am planning on adding enemies to jump on (a bit like Mario) but the enemies will be much different than the ones in Mario. These enemies will be vegetarians that you have to jump on. There will also be some things like fireballs than will be shot at you that you have to avoid. The only thing that might change is that there won't be as many Easter egg levels. The Easter egg levels will still be good in quality, there just might not be enough time to add a lot of them, as originally planned. Thank you for reading.

I'm making progress on the game and have made a main menu. The main menu is going to be an in game interactive menu with ice cream cones that will bring you to the specified level. you will be able to jump to whatever normal level you want from the main menu. I say normal level because i will be adding many secret levels that you will have to find in the game's main levels. some will be fairly easy to find, others not so much, be I hope it will add some depth to the game and make people want to go back into the levels and find the secret ones. A screenshot of the main menu is on the games page and i look forward to seeing your reactions to the game!

The game's development is going pretty well. I released a demo of the first few levels on the game's page. The textures in the Demo are mostly going to change. There really isn't too much news right now, not because I'm not working on it, but because it is in a pretty boring stage of development. The levels I'm making are getting longer and more challenging, and I'm getting better at making levels that will challenge the player, a couple of them maybe too difficult, but that probably won't change. I created a maze level, that i think is in the demo and would really like to hear back from you about it. It doesn't have any platforming aspects to it, so if I get any good feedback from it I might make some more maze levels that include platforming because, well, that's what the game is about. The game is exactly one month away from release and it still have ALOT to do on it. I hope i get some feedback, good or bad, sometime soon and I look forward to hearing about what you think of the demo.

I am making good progress on the game, I have five levels completely created so far. I am aiming to create at least thirty levels to the game, but that is definitely subject to change depending on the time frame i have to work on it. The game is scheduled to come out on the 20th of august, so I figure i should be able to make at least fifteen more, the five levels I currently have are fairly short, but are just the introductory levels and I plan on making them much longer and more difficult implementing new features such as spikes or power ups. Please give me as much criticism and tips as you want, it is greatly appreciated as this is my first indie game and am very new to game development. I plan on updating my blog daily, but no real schedule, as i am not nearly organized enough to work off of something like that. when the game is out it will be free to download and also available on desura.
