Thanks for playing my mod! Yeah this works best with maps that use almost all vanilla textures. Also I updated the addon today with some more textures. :)

I know this is a bit late but there is a "Lite" version of the mod on the ZDoom and Zandronum threads for the mod. The lite version is just enemies nothing else for maximum compatibility with other mods.

If anyone is interested in a "Lite" version of Hard Doom v8.3 then check out the ZDoom or Zandronum forum threads. I released a version with just the enemies there!

The Quad Shotgunner was originally made for Hard Doom by Ghastly then submitted to R667. It's not originally from Complex Doom. :)

I've added the SSG drop as an addon. If you want a version of it for v6.9-Lite then use this: Mediafire.com

Just make sure you load the addon after Hard Doom itself.

I just don't like the idea of players being able to get the SSG before the map designers wanted them to. Also I still feel that it makes Ultimate Doom too easy due to lack of harder monsters like Doom II has. Most people agreed at the time of removing it that it was better this way. If you wanted though it would be easy to make a small addon so it drops.

The SSG doesn't drop in Ultimate Doom. It used to at one point in early versions, but it made Ultimate Doom far too easy.

Yeah but I haven't made any progress since the new enemies and re-adding footstep sounds. I'm still waiting on sprites to code the new arachnotron. I will also be dropping support for Zandronum with the v7 release, as nobody really plays it online anymore and there is some stuff from newer ZDoom revisions that I want to use to make the experience a little better.

I honestly have no clue at this point. The person that was doing the sprite set for me never finished it and gave up. I found someone else to do it but they have no motivation lately.

The Visage fires frost balls which slow your speed by 40% and decays over four seconds. It also has a homing charge attack at closer ranges. The Hells Fury projectiles are being made faster but they are easier to side-step now.

Glad you enjoy it! The next version is going to include a rare Lost Soul, Pain Elemental, and Arachnotron. This way finally all enemies will have a rare spawn variant. I'm also including some minor visual effects like lens flares which add to the mod but won't greatly decrease performance or distract you/block your view.
