Why would this upset us? We have no shame. Stop by Msremake.com and gibs! Hell, if we tweak em enough we can avoid copyright issues - or at least use them as a basis for more OC.

Nevermind... I uninstalled and reinstalled the 2013SP from scratch, and went with method #1, that fixed it. Generates some debug errors, but works.
I'm worried if this work-around gets spread too wide, Valve will undo it - this new crew that took over really hates modders for some damned reason.
Still not fixing it...
Method1:
- Valve Logo, Black Screen, Flash of Load Screen, Crash
Method2:
- Valve Logo, Black Screen, Flash of Load Screen, Crash
- (With -alllowdebug) Black Screen, Crash
Without the patch (either method):
- White Screen with Valve Logo Music, Crash
As the late, great, Lord K once said, "For every bug we fix, we create three more, new, more interesting bugs!"
If you're having trouble with your MSC forum account, check the sticky:

As the comment I approved of, yet mysteriously vanished anyways, said - you need to launch it through Steam, not through the hl.exe. You'll need to re-launch Steam after installing.
Well, there's the day/night transition vid, but it's true, we don't gotta lotta game play videos up.
Umm... There's this one, if you just want t3h funay:

(Apparently, MSC + Beer = Win)
/me approves of this comment...
...but would like to point out that MSC is not FDA tested for human consumption... We'll need to get a nutrition label for the installer, I suppose.
Can you play on-line? (Not that I know why you'd try playing NS off line.)
Try reinstalling Half-Life1 as well (and load the training center afterwards). The folders moved in 2013, and it maybe messing with your mods.
PS. Note that gmail and hotmail don't like our domain for forum confirmation e-mails for some dern reason. If ya need your account to be manually activated, pester one of us, I suppose.
You *can* play single player, however, it'll get really, really painful pretty quickly, as the game is explicitly balanced for multiple players, and it takes a much longer time to level alone, nevermind the fact that you've no one to answer quick questions. You'll also need to have about three-four times the level of any boss you intend to defeat, each being designed to take on four players of their level.
You'll need to be more specific, there's a lot of info at console, some of which may or may not be fatal or non fatal errors.
Better off asking here though: Msremake.com - we usually rarely check ModDb.
Normal, required for local listenserver support.
Probably best described as Morrowind style MRPG under the Half-Life1 engine - although the core game predates Morrowind, that's probably still its biggest inspiration. It's most unique factor is that it's more or less a community built mod - it's had hundreds of hands in it. It's original creators are long gone, but the world has expanded, literally, exponentially in their absence, and there's always new fans, coming around and adding new stuff, that just refuse to let the thing die.
If you just want lore, here's a huge pack of TL;DR:

Yeah, we've never made an .SO for hosting. I do not think it'll work on Half-Life Linux either, though I've never attempted it myself (plus the Linux port caused all of us Goldsrc developers such a headache, even for those of us working entirely in Windows, that we're all rather bitter.) Some folks have pulled it off in Wine though.
Probably a few more days, but you can play with this one just fine, so long as you grab the FEB2015c patch linked above as well.
Or you can use this one, but either works - this one just has some extra stuff for hosts:

Just doesn't auto install (needs winrar: Rarlab.com )
Eh, it'd be nice of the staff wouldn't upload stuff without our team's permission.
We're going to have to take this down soon - but it can stay for now. There's major issues with the main installer, and we want one that behaves before I start distributing it from more than one outlet.
In any case, in order to actually use this installer to play on FN, you will need the FEB2015c patch, linked at the bottom of the page below:

Any chance we can get the space bar to drag&scroll without re-centering the cursor... Like Hammer, every CAD and Adobe program since 1990? (At least the middle mouse kinda works, but it be sloppy with the cursor re- centering in the window and all, and rough on the index finger.)
Granted, configurable keys would be nice - even ye old Hammer violates the classic rule that shift+click = add to selection... And instead uses ctrl+click, for some dern reason.
Like most Source Mods, after running the installer, you'll need to close Steam, and re-open it. It should then appear in the Library as "Master Sword: Source - Map Showcase".
If it doesn't, try going to the Library Tools and download the Source SDK (quickest being 2007), and then restart Steam again.
Try your hand here: Msremake.com
From another comment you posted, it sounds as though you're trying to get it to work with a non-Steam variant of Half-Life, and while we're more than willing to try to help you make that work, we've had no luck ourselves. So far, it still requires Steam.
Sadly, MSC still requires Steam Half-Life. Haven't found a Won/Xash/Sing clone that it'll work with.
That is one of our models it is reporting missing through. You might wanna make sure you installed proper, first using the full installer, then the betapack, as available yonder:

Not *entirely*...
Need to get them to update this page though.

I tried to fix it with an alternate gameinfo.txt, and while it'll load, I still get the error:
41/monitor_breencast_jumbotron2 - func_monitor: UTIL_SetModel: not precached: *2
Dunno what do, but I guess we can chalk it up to yet another of the thousands of mods killed by random Valve updates.
Nvm, the link some kind user provided on the front page works:

Save for the skybox on the dark forest level... Purple checkers are BLINDING when set against black forest. :\
Sucks that Valve insists on making these random changes in an effort to keep the modders down.
Unlike some other gameinfo.txt fixes, this one seems to work for me... Although the "dark forest" still has a missing sky box, and I r blinded by the bright purple checkers in what is otherwise darkness.
Aesthetically (glitches aside), these maps are pleasing, but not well thought out or particularly creative (even re-cycled the old car battery puzzle). I think what we have here is yet another skilled artisan in need of an idea man. (Which is, sadly, rarer than the other way around.)
Translated voice acting would have been a lot better if they took the time to reword things to match the original sentence lengths.
Woulda been trapped by my allies a lot less often if the squad direct button worked, or if the just had the old AI "I'm rubbing against you = move damnit!" thing.
Other than that, pretty good, as these things go.
Who betrayed us!? James, Jack, Kevin? They're all so generic I canna tell!
Seems this mod got killed by yet another random Steam update. I've tried modifying the GameInfo.txt as described elsewhere, and while it gets a bit further, it seems nearly all the textures and models are missing. The one thing I've not tried is completely unpacking the HL2:EP2 VPK, but really, that's not worth it, as it means another copy of HL2:EP2 for every such mod. Any ideas?
Well, ya might try this new patch... We kinda "worked around" some of the stuff Valve broke - though not all of it.
If we could figure out how to make this work without HL1 for Steam, we woulda done so by now. So far as I know, none of the "fake WON" variants of Half-Life work with our game - though that particular error suggests maybe you installed the betapack without first using the main installer.
Imitation is the sincerest form of flattery!
But hey, maybe your mod will actually survive a Steam update, so more power to you! ><
