Hi, sorry for not being able to get a response, we had a lot of requests for getting the latest version, we are going to send all a link today to the latest version of the game which includes Episode1 access and latest bug fixes. Sorry for having to wait so much, its proven harder than expected.

Thanks, indeed ore exploration would be nice however we thought about adding doors inside buildings which you have to open. Before you open them you wont know whats in the room beside the door. We already have sewers (hasnt been published in the current version though) and its planned into the version that is gonna come up as a result of the Kickstarter campaign. Thanks for the suggestions!
Dont you have 3 campaigns to start the game in the intro screen? (Prologue, Episode1 and Survive)

Hi there, you can go to Options and choose a lesser lighting detail, that should make it better with multiple lights around the character (including a lit lantern)

We really dont know why that happened, i have no knowledge of Desura staff contacting us and requiring help to get this sorted out, we thought they will just make it work with their platform. We would have loved to have it running inside Desura directly but we cant tell why is not working (at least i cant - im the lead programmer)

Hi @TheRichardTS, thanks for your appreciation, we are really glad to learn about people enjoying our work.
We do have a back story but its not well explained into the game, we will work more on this to make sure the player is aware of the world he is in and the background for some of the decisions he made or he needs to live with. Also, if you just played the demo which only allows you to play Survive mode than you should definitely try the alpha release (which contains the prologue, episode1 and the survive game modes)
About the camera, have you tried the mouse wheel zoom function? If you did and that still doesnt make it better than i imagine you'd like more to see it from the back than above, right?
Indeed the serum is the agent people use to temporary fight the virus and because of that it become the exchange currency; you extract it from zombie blood automatically and its tightly related with the characteristics of some skills and attributes.

If the file is missing then you can get it from the internet (you'll find it really quickly using google) and we will make sure we will update the dx installer in the next release.
Please dont uninstall and install multiple times, if it says is missing then you just have to either install a newer version of dx or find the file on the net and copy it in the directory where the exe is)
Sorry for the trouble!

Can you send him the link to the last version we uploaded (it seems to me that the Desura one is not the latest)? The dx problem should have been taken care of in the last Survive release

Hi, thanks for offering to test.
Unfortunately it doesnt crash for us (it actually crashes not so often, sometimes after hours of play). Can you please not take any teammates (if you already did that is), it seems theres a crash related to them in some situations.
Also please send the main.log and zombiesofww2.log files to ugutza@yahoo.com email address to let us take a look on what is going on.

Please send us the main.log and zombiesofww2.log (they're both in the system dir) files to ugutza@yahoo.com so we can take a look over what might be wrong with the installation.
Thanks!

Please install all additional dependencies (dx, visual studio runtime and openAL) when the installing process asks for to make sure you have all the required files to run. If you already did that please let us know here

Is an action RPG and the current release includes also a SURVIVE game mode in it where you have to live for as much as possible; killing zombies, leaders and bosses is not a requirement but a necessity (as you will soon realize if you start playing). I suggest you get the latest version, the demo is months old and wont reflect the current state of the game (although is fun to play as well).
Also take a look at the latest videos on this site, they show gameplay action in the late nights you have to defend yourself.

Do you installed the first prologue version or the second one which you had to pay for?
What system do you have (OS, video, cpu). Thanks for providing the information!

Is nothing like Project Zomboid, it has better graphics, sound and dynamics :)
Joking aside, no, is not a hardcore realistic survival, is an Action RPG with a story and a lot more.

Is true, there's no save version for the Prologue (being free to play and all) but there's going to be one starting Episode one. I hope you enjoy it either way!

The 300mb game version was finally accepted by Desura, is up and running now! Don't be shy and download it :)
One thing we are excited to show in the next episode is a bunch of new game modes (besides story) just to allow people to understand how much diversity the game can provide. I can speak for anyone involved that we cant wait to share it!
If anyone has any suggestions or questions about whats to come please enter here and speak your mind : Indiedb.com

Glad you like it!

>>I like the randomness of the stashed equipment. Makes you really
>>want to check all the nooks and crannies.

That was the intention, in the next episode we will have so much more loot to gather.

>>Grenades not so much. Hard to gauge where the little buggers go. I
>>think the zombies kill enough of my men without me fragging them.

We already though of adding a visual trail to see the grenade while traveling also i think we have to give it a bit more damage (dont like the way it punches either)

>>YIPE! One play through a certain creature had a very hot toy.

:) Yes, if you're very lucky from time to time you'll get a nazzi with a sniper rifle that will wreak havok through your man. They wont as you might not know where that comes from initially, just have to pay attention to the shooting sound (weapons on enemies are random so things are not harsh at all times)

>>When can we expect episode one?

Is coming in the next 2 months at most!

I DARE ANYONE who finished the prologue on normal to play it on Hard or Impossible (the last one is killin', you really have to play the game exceptionally if you want to survive)

Hello Mayflower, realy glad you tried the game!
Nobody said the game is going to be easy to play well :) I can assure you though it takes a while to learn how to play it but is really logically related in everything you do. Agreed that a control window is the most needed feature we dont have into the Prologue but as Florin suggested, pressing CTRL while ingame and then using Left/Right keys will show you most of the actions you can do (and the keys for it). Also is good to follow the current quest (key L), each quest (if necessary) will show you where you need to go (there's an arrow on the minimap that does just that. Also, please start playing it on easy (if Normal mode looks too chaotic) that should allow you to advance easier and understand well what is going on.
About not having flares/batteries you should scavange, theres probably 100 scavanging places on that map where you can find a lot of items to use, its just that you need to discover (and learn) what kind of places the scavanging takes place in.
I would suggest you play the game once again on easy and dont just take I shall remain just as a mindless action game, IT IS REALLY NOT. In order to finish it you have to play it smart (at least a little).
Im hoping you'll give it another try as there are countless options you can try. (first is, press CTRL and hold it and cycle through the tutorial lines with left and right keys when you feel you cannot move further)
Also please access this link which explains all the actions/keys you can do within the game : Indiedb.com

You would probably need to re-download, however file is still pending approval yet (not sure why its taking so long).
For people who played the first version though theres no need to re-download (the content is mostly the same), this is merely an update because of size shrinkage (we want to make it easier for people with not so good internet connection be able to download and play it)

The goal is to release the game in Episodes, each episode being hours long to play bringing new features, items and maps and adding to the story.
