Thank you!
- More soundtracks will come
- Air strafing is infact in the game, it's just very subtle to give you the possibility of correcting your jumps if your initial jump direction and/or speed was slightly off. I had to balance that as it was originally possible to jump of a wall during a wallrun and strafe back to the wall allowing you to do another walljump.
- While i would like to enhance the graphics even more, i'm somewhat limited to what the game engine has to offer.

Currently only a PC version is planned.

I'll look into additional viewing options. The controls are designed for a first-person view (they can cause issues in third person, especially as a third-person camera can fly into level-geometry) but i'll see what i can do about that.

I'm currently focusing on finishing the game in the first place (only targeting windows at the moment.) I might think about multiplatform releases after that. But i can't promise that. I added multiple windows-specific librarys to the game over time which make it harder to port the game to other platforms. (like the "audiere" sound library or a custom DLL which enhances the somewhat limited directX functions in the engine.) It would require to write alternatives for other platforms. I might look into that in the future, but i can't promise anything.

Very nice video! Glad you enjoy it so much. :)
btw, there are already custom-maps appearing on the forum. If you want you can give them a try. ;) Forum.celaria.com

Yeah, it takes a bit of time to get used to the editor. But that's always the case with new software. :P

Just wanted to clarify that i don't spent my time just to create alphas.^^ It's always pretty much always a snapshot of the current build of the game. The only thing i sometimes do is to disable features which aren't ready for the public. (As an example the current alpha v5 does have multiplayer functionality built-in, i just disabled it by removing the multiplayer button from the menu. :P )

I'm working towards a final release all the time. I release alpha versions along the way in order to get
1) early feedback
2) find out bugs (higher playerbase = higher chance to find a bug)
3) get the word out about the game in order to build a playerbase in the first place.

Releasing those alpha versions does NOT impact the development of the final game. (Quite the contrary. It helps a lot. Not only due to the previously mentioned things but also motivationwise.) :)

Also, it's not like I'm releasing alpha versions every week. (Nothing would justify that. It would only do damage by burning out potential players very quickly.) I work on the game and wait until i have big/a lot of updates in the game which i can include in a playable alpha version.

There aren't tons of custom maps available at the moment. (I wish that this was true.) There is only one custom map available on the forum (i wanted to build a website for custom map sharing. As a temporary solution i opened up a forum for that.) Currently there isn't really an active playerbase (with the exception of a handfull of people) so custom content is pretty much nonexistent as of right now. (Which has probably more to do with the fact that most potencial players don't even know about the games existence.)

Very nice! Glad you like the leveldesign. It's inteded to have multiple paths and abuse the geometry to your advantage. (You summarized it very well in your video with the "Essence of Parkour".) :) Also yes, all the medal times you see in the singleplayer are my records (not all of them are my personal best records though. I still have to balance the times so that they don't get ridiculous XD )

Happy to hear such positive feedback in the video. (Was fun to watch btw.) Encourages to work harder on the game and polish it as much as possible. :)

Did you use the editor in fullscreen mode? If you use the editor in fullscreen mode and you try to save the map then it will automatically switch back to windowed mode and display a filebrowser window in which you can select the filename and the location of your map (on your HDD or SSD). During that period the game "freezes" until you either saved the map or cancelled the saving progress. (After that the game switches back to fullscreen mode automatically.) Maybe the window appeared "behind" the gamewindow so that you couldn't see it. (And thus it looked like the game "froze".)
Try to run the game in windowed mode and see if this issue still arises.

I just realized (after checking the data folder) that i left one of my testmodels as an .obj file in there (which is a 3D model of the character.) At first i thought you had somehow reverse engineered the animation files. XD I suppose you used that particular model? Eitherway, very nice indeed. Especially as you took your time to rig and texture it. :)

Looks awesome! :) May i ask you how you managed to do the character pose? (It looks like you deformed a screenshot of the character and photoshoped it into an ingame screenshot?)

You posted the same question on my profile (and i also answered there) but for the sake of completion, i'll post the answer also here. :)

That's a DirectX 9.0 error. This can be easily fixed by installing DirectX 9.0c on your PC: Microsoft.com

For some reason some PCs do have this error even if they have a more up-to date DirectX version already installed. (DirectX 10 or 11). It may be that some crucial files from the older 9 version are missing. Installing the older 9.0c version over the newer versions helps in that case.

What exactly do you mean with "changig" perspectives? Do you mean a third person view?

That's why i design the levels to be a bit more open. Not only does it allow you to use different paths to the goal, but it also helps you to not loose the orientation. > You do not get blocked by any small blocks/obstacles which are too small so that they get overlooked by the player. Also the FOV in this game is by default higher. (90 degrees. You can increase that in the video options.)
The grid-like texture also helps a lot for determining the distance between the player and a platform.
If you get used to it (and with a bit of practice) you can perform even harder jumps pretty much consistently without failing. :)

Multiplayer will come soon. (I wanted to release the map editor before the multiplayer mode.) Multiplayer is working (the foundation is already there) but it isn't really polished enough for a public release.

"Celaria" is the name of the planet on which the game plays on. (At least that's the current concept i have for this game.)
You pronounce the first "C" more like an "S". Other than that it's exactly as you read it.

Thank you! Nice to hear such positive feedback. I appreciate it. :) (And so does the composer who did the soundtrack.)
As to the gamedev thing: Grab an easy to use engine (if you don't have a lot of programming experience) and start experimenting/making games. Just never give up. Every minute working on a game counts and adds to your total experience. :)

The wallrun still isn't optimal in this version. It is much better than in the first version but sometimes you still can get stuck on the wall. The problem is that the wallrun detection takes the camera rotation and movement direction into account. (And the movement angles are still a bit to narrow in this version.) The next alpha version will allow much wider angles so that wallrun should behave as expected.

Also what exact problems do you have with falling?

Is the GPU an integrated chipset (on the Motherboard)?
Can you tell me the exact model of the Ati GPU?
But i can't really tell why you have those issues in the first place. Can you play other games on it without any problems?

Do you have a screenshot of this bug? Also how did this bug happen? (Did it happen right after the start of the game? Or after you did a specific thing in the game?) Did you change any video-settings in the options menu?
What are your system specifications? (CPU and GPU)

You could try to disable any kind of firewall/security software temporarily to check if that's what causes those problems.

It's the exact same issue another person had. I investigated it, but i wasn't able to tell what the problem really is. It seems that something blocks the .exe from accessing the DLLs. :/ (As the game works directly from the .zip file, it can't be an overall compatibility issue) But i don't know what software would cause that (and why...) Maybe some form of firewall/antivirus does that, but i can't say for sure as i never had those problems on any of my machines.

I don't know why, but the game does have difficultys to load the DLL files on some PCs.
Try out this version:

I used different functions to access the DLL files. Does this version work?
