Reichtangle @ Bolgs Bodyguards

scimitars, yes. Two-handed... dunno.

The goblins gathered again in the valley. There a host of Wargs came ravening and with them came the bodyguard of Bolg, goblins of huge size with scimitars of steel.

Simple: WB holds the license. They don't cater to people who want games like this but, from time to time, they put out a different Tolkien-based game.

When people have options, they aren't starved enough to just buy it cause "Middle-Earth!" And instead might prefer to stick with a mod that gives them what they want.

Reichtangle @ Medieval Kingdoms Total War (Attila Version)

Maybe this has been said somwewhere already, but... considering that the LotR mod managed to work its way into Campaign map modding, ya think they'd share their secrets, so that you could make the map a bit more fitting for the Medieval Period? Increasing the scale and such?

Aachen, the place where the German Kings were crowned, not being on the map is... well

Or the German Order withotu Marienburg...

Two turns per year... i can see why that was chosen, but it can make campaigning quite a pain. For example Teutonic Order... Riga to the next settlements is multiple turns and every second turn is winter... attrition and so on.

tbh, I'd have gone with the Red Axe. The hammer whas for movies only, and his Axe was actually from Tolkien's Works.

I gotta admit, that's a design I also could've seen how the Turbulent could've looked like...

The Writers deemed it OK to give the Empire a new ship 40 years after a New hope... and it never got a picture... meanwhile the rebels got a load of new X-Wing versions, E-Wings, K-Wings, Mediator, Viscount etc.

The Empire got... Preybirds and Turbulents...

oh god that stupid looking ugly PoS that is just an Acht-Acht with a modified breech glued onto an AT ST...

"WWII inspired"... is one thing, Disney-Lucas... LAZYNESS something else entirely.

The best part? Giving it the legs is removing the main advantage of a "normal" gun... namely being easy to camouflage.

what originality in the ST?

TFA is ANH reloaded
TLJ is just crap
RoS is RotJ reloaded mixed with Dark Empire and KotoR (the Force Bond)

ah, the battle of Orinda artwork... if the ST would have any brains, they would've put that into the movies... possibly the greatest SW Space battle artwork.

Reichtangle @ This is a sphere. It's armed with torpedoes. We call it a torpedo sphere.

I think what took up a lot of stuff wasn't only the torpedo storage, but hte specialised equipment to find weakspots in planetary shields etc.

"To accomplish its primary mission, the Torpedo Sphere arrived in orbit of a target planet, and scanned the shields to determine its weak point and to locate the deflector shield generators. A hundred heavy weapon technicians[2] took several hours[3] to calibrate and coordinate the proton torpedo launchers once the weak spot had been identified, and fired the salvo at a target of no more than six square meters to open a hole in the shield. The hole was, in actuality, a power surge that barely lasted for a few microseconds, and the turbolaser batteries fired through the hole to destroy the planet's shield generators. If the turbolasers failed to fire in time to take advantage of the shield weakness, the entire process had to be started over. The hardest part of the Torpedo Sphere's mission was to determine the location of the target planet's shield generators. On board sensors were unable to penetrate the shield to locate the shield generators on the surface; as such, technicians aboard the Sphere analyzed the shield's power waves to determine where the power was entering the shield from to determine the location of the generating source.[2] At least two Loronar DS-13 projector deflector shield generators were employed to shield the vessel."

it's basically a highly specialised siege weapon, and i have the feeling that an ISD actualyl wouldn't have been be able to do it the same way, aside maybe if they scrapped the hangar and placed a similiar arrangement there. Planetary shields in SW are cabaple of withstanding a lot of punishment. Otherwise Death Squadron could've simply bombed it's way through the Hoth Shield.

I guess to even get to a decent amount of bow mounted torpedo launchers for this job, the ISD would have to be cut-off somewhere before the normal bow. or maybe go Conqueror...

And it could be that the Torpedosphere uses bigger and heavier Proton Torpedoes than the usual ISD carries

Jeroen of EaW Re tried to base his StarHawk on a fanart that was basically a MonCalified Kedalbe... he got 5 different types of Kedalbe Battleships in the End and so the StarHawk got hte nickname "Rebeldabe", even if it doesnt look like a Kedalbe now :D

http://starwars.wikia.com/wiki/Rebel_Command_Fleet
"The fleet numbered hundreds of small vessels supported by at least forty MC80 Star Cruisers. "

And yes, that's the Endor Fleet. Not NR.

Even canon (yuck) gives us ATLEAST 13 Mon Cal Cruisers. ANd I wouldn't be surprised if they increase the number at some point.

AND it was NOT the concentrated fire of the fighters that brought the shields down. The whole fn REBEL FLEET Concentrated the Fire on the Executor. The only thing the fighters did, was blowing up the bridge shield generator and crashing into the bridge. AFTER the shields wend down.

Reichtangle @ Ship Of The Day Executor

"Rebel fighters should be the only thing that can destroy an Executor and giving the ship advanced fighters could mess with the balance. "

yeah no... even during Endor, the only thing that brought down the Executors shields had been concentrated fire by the Rebel fleet, which in legends included at least 40 Mon Cal cruisers.

I know that Mothmatists and other Rebel fanboys like to massively overpower their fighters in Stories etc... but its ridicoulus..
