It seems to me that if Epic asked you to stop working on the UT renderer, that would also apply to any renderer for all Unreal engine 1 games, because they all share the same base code.
If you don't want to support UT99, so be it.
If you do want to support UT99, give me the name or department of who contacted you so I can clear things with Epic.
Currently they are unwilling to discuss the matter because they "won't comment on rumour and speculation".
Which either means they have not asked you to stop, or you have not given a clear and direct accusation which they can confirm or deny.
