That was almost 10 years ago or so when I quit, hehe. :)
Great to hear it is still played! And good luck for your friend keeping it updated and going. Maintaining the mods to still work is quite a bit of work.

Well, you'll get a response, but not a helpful one. :-P
One thing ahead: We don't want our assets (models, skins, code, basically everything) to be used on other public projects. But as long as you fiddle around with the files for your own personal usage, go ahead and go wild. ;-)
As Skleni and Hexman did the Coding, I have no idea about it. Sorry.
Sorry mate, I don't have a solution for this problem. Maybe there is a way to use some kind of Sandbox/Emulator on the MacBooc to simulate an older environment? I don't use Apple products so I'm sorry I can't be more helpful. :/
It is not a buildable unit in multiplayer. It is an asset purly for the singleplayer missions (mission objective).
Just when I thought I couldn't be more late than last year, I am... Sorry and thank you! Hope you will have an awesome year 2018 as well :)
Calling a Mod private and then using the assets of other projects while showcasing it on ModDB is not really private anymore, is it? The people that worked for CWC spent thousands of hours to create models, textures, sounds, code etc. and we never allowed reusing our stuff for other public projects like yours. So please remove our assets or stop using them for this obviously public project. See my PM for further details on our stance towards private use. Thank you.

Better late than never. Thank you! I hope you'll have an awesome year 2017 too. :)
Not dead, but finished since 2009. ;)
Thanks for the nice words guys (all of you). :)
@nukebox: Yes it kinda is. And even tough some players wish we would work on another project, we simply don't have the time anymore. All of us work in full-time jobs now and some have families to take care of. So there simply is no time for projects like CWC (or CWC 2) or anything like that anymore. Sadly.
But CWC will always be our "baby". We enjoyed the time working on it and we all learned a bunch while doing so. CWC and it's community will always have a place in our heart. <3
Or just DL them from the file section here. I just uploaded all patch files for manual installation. Have fun. ;)
You can try DL'ing the patches manually from our partner Flosoft.biz:
Uhm, do you really think IRL soldiers inside buildings are invincible? O_o
They have some kind of cover and concealment, but they also die when getting hit. If you want arcade gameplay, maybe CWC is not the mod for you.
Try the "Addons" section here on our ModDB profile (Link: Moddb.com. A lot of users have uploaded their custom maps here. If you still want more, download our "Genesis" map-creator. It will automatically generate new maps so you don't need to know about map-creating at all. ;)
Uhm, there is no NATO in CWC. ONly SUA and USSR. We canceled the EU faction a long time ago due to time-management problems. Else we would have never been able to release CWC at all.
Depends on your playstyle. USSR has a big fouc on ground units while USA has more diversity if it comes to air units. If you love big tank assaults, go for USSR. If you think bombing your enemy from above is the best thing ever, try USA. ;)
To install it, simply extract the content of the RAR archive into a new folder and specify the path to your ZH instalaltion if it cannot be found automatically.
Further documentations about templates etc. can be found here:
I hope this helps.
Yes, it should also be possible to use it with other mods or even vanilla C&C Generals if some code is changed to fit those. As GENESIS is open source, anyone can fiddle around to make it fit for the mods they desire.
In the current version it was optimized for CWC maps of course. ;)
Skleni probably can answer this better than me though.
Infantry only was only included for testing reasons in the beta and is NOT final or even official. Some new units are still buildable there.
The option to select infantry only will probably be removed with the next update already. This mode is heavily unbalanced, bugged and the AI is super-stupid. Simply don't play it. It will be gone soon.
Also: BK is NOT compatible with campaigns. We have changed so much to the building menus that some missions won't work with the pre-setup units made by Relic. BK is a sole Multiplayer/Skirmish mod.
It already is, but all uploaded files have to be checked and authorized by the ModDB staff first and that takes up to 24 h.
BK is not stricly limited to the Normand part of the western front. We cover the whole western front until 1945 (Italy anyone?). Ferdinand (or in our case "Elefant" to be more precise) units had also been used there, not only in Russia.
If BK would focus on the fights in France/Normandy only you would see a lot less units in BK.
Please PM me ythe username or E-Mail you used to register. I can vaildate you manually then.

To solve the pink gun for the AT-Halftrack, visit our Open Beta Forum and look for the bugthread of it (should be in the "Closed" bugforum now). There I psoted the required files to get the skin for the gun back. Sometimes if your installation fails, those files don't get copied. You can also re-install the Open Beta to fix this.
BK works fine with the v2.602 Trainer from Cheathappens. Guess what we use to make testgames when we make the pictures or videos for ModDB. ;)
To get support on BK problems, please visit our Forum and search trough it. Most problems have already been explained/solved over there.
We located the error and are already working on it. It might be already fixed in one of the upcoming Open Beta Updates.
Some of the videos are not up-to-date anymore, that's why you can't find the Schwimmwagen. ;)
