Yup. :)
For gateways, to have the correct thumbnail in the shop, please take a look at this thread:

Sorry to hear you had problems with the mod. Unfortunately the same bug happens to some other users, but I can't really say what causes it. Fortunately, going to windowed and back fixes it. :)
Hey! Well, how did you try to open them? Using the LAN_Force app or by connecting to it's controller computer?
Regarding the LAN_Force app: unlike vanilla Uplink, locks have levels and so, you need the higher versions of the app.
Hmm, that's really curious... What operating system do you have? Does vanilla Uplink have the same problem (the sound system is the same)?
Ah, that was implemented when a bug caused users to lose progress. All it does is force the game to save (which normally does it once every couple of minutes or when quitting). So to load it you just load it as any other savegame, with the user and password on the login screen. :)
Will probably remove it in a patch, since it's not needed anymore.
Because you don' wanna get arrested boi!
In all seriousness, Uplink is quite a "must-play" from the last decade of video games. ^_^
Really peculiar... I can't reproduce that delete/download bug at all...
Regarding the Mission list though: new missions are posted every 8 in-game hours or so, so that's why there isn't anything new after one hour. :)
So, the mission list should look something like this (after clicking):
Dl.dropboxusercontent.com
One idea popped into my mind though: when did you create a new user? With this (v104) version of the mod or with vanilla Uplink?
Regarding the DevCD: when I started the mod they didn't sell it anymore, only access to their private repository. That's where the mod's source files are located too. If you have the DevCD you can e-mail Introversion with proof to give you access. Although, I do have to warn you that it appears the repository isn't working at the moment - I tried committing the last UOS build and got "Access Denied" :( Didn't get the time to contact them yet.
In case you do get a hold of them and have access, I have no objection towards someone who'd want to Mod the Mod ^_^
Well, the mission details are visible after you click on the mission, where the payment and accept button are. As a more thorough way, you can contact the employer and they usually give you enough information.
The title on the "face" of the mission slate is more of a general idea about what the mission could be, it never says if it's gonna be on a LAN or how much space you'll need.
I do agree that they're annoying sometimes, I remember trying to fix them but I guess I just forgot to take a second look at them, haha!
I'll probably release a fix in a few days or so, for this and the long pop-up messages.
Sorry again for the inconvenience!
PS: Nice to know somebody's playing with the XMLs ^_^ Although not for fun... ^_-'
Pretty much yes. The fixes in this version were run-time related, that means that they're not related to the save files. :) Cheers!
Hey Ned132! What glitches did you encounter while playing?
Hey CFWMagic, sorry to hear you're having problems with the mod. :(
Yes, it is quite funny nobody encountered that. In what other instances did you have the same problem (apart from the Gateway downgrade)? Also, what resolution are you running on?
Sorry again for the inconvenience!
Hm, just tested it and they do update. And about the deleting and downloading at the same time... doesn't a pop-up appear when trying to do multiple stuff on the same file? Are you sure you're on the latest version? XD
Hey rodvil! Unfortunately, no, the mod is only available for Windows. I will try to bring it to other systems, but not in the near future, sorry.
For GOG, I think it's 1.55, as for the Steam version it's 1.6.
Hopefully there aren't as many crashes as before! ^_^
Thanks!
Hmmm... that's a new one. Unfortunately, I think it's something to do with the graphics API I've used for the mod, which means it's out of my hands... :(
Did you try switching the monitor order?
Haha, yes. I really wanted to do that, but didn't get the time & resources. I did get to add 3 missing songs, from the BonusCD, though!
You know what? I actually forgot to look into that some more, sorry. Fortunately, I had a bit of luck tonight and managed to find the culprit.
I've re-uploaded the file (the same v104 downloads, as it didn't warrant it's own version) with the fix and changelog updated. :)
Thanks for reminding me!
Thank you very much for the kind words, Perdikofas! They really do motivate me! <3
Thanks a lot!
Ah yes, Onlink (I think this is what you meant, no?) is a totally different beast. What I know is that the same developer is working on a new hacking game, sort of a spiritual successor for it, so you might have that to look out for.
As for merging them, is not easily possible since both mods have extensive re-writing of the code... :/
I still remember being afraid that the cops will actually bust in! And I didn't even have the modem connected! Haha!
Thanks!
Yes, I'd like to try and bring it to Linux, but not in the close future, unfortunately.
Thanks!
I'm happy that you think that way. Thank you very much! ^_^
Awww such kind words. You're making me feel all warm inside. Thank you man! <3
Off to basking in glory!
Thank you very much proveisso! Much appreciated and hope that everything works ok!
Although, I didn't get to fix all the crashes... :( Haha!
