Video games in general are my passion and why not melt passion with extra income on the side. However, it's still one of the biggest passions I have in my life even though money is involved sometimes, so it has a feeling of a job. I consider myself a true indie game developer. I'm totally free to make whatever I want, I'm not bound by deadlines or budgets, my imagination and skills are my limits, and so far I didn't reach the limit yet.

Hi. You probably don't remember me, we spoke many months ago while you were still developing the game. I was wandering if you could tell me how well was your game received by gamers? Are you happy with the income, is it enough for you to make more advanced games? Did you spend any money on advertising? Regards

Good for you, but I still don't understand what you have from those votes, votes don't mean sales.

It's always good to be multi-talented and multi-skilled, like myself. It's rare, but it happens, obviously.

I agree with you, that's why I do all of it myself, plus I don't have to pay anyone.

Well, let me know when you finish and release any game what the boost did for you. I doubt it will do anything.

And what exactly will the "boosting" of your game achieve?

Regarding the personal message you sent me offering to boost my game views to 500-1000 per day for 5€. LOL, you can't even boost your own game :)

Wow, you really took your time to write the comment and I really appreciate it a lot, thank you for that! All arguments you listed I actually share with you. I'm not fully satisfied with the graphics either and I reused the music I made for Invader Attack 2, since I didn't had any time to compose new ones.

There are speeding ups and rotations and moving between alien structures in the game, but I cannot show everything that is supposed to be a surprise for the players. If I show that in the video or I tell people about it, then they'd know what to expect and won't be surprised. And I don't think it's a good policy revealing everything. Eg. someone made an adventure game, made a walkthrough video, 99% chance players will just watch the video and not play the game. While I fully agree with you on all other points, this is one I disagree with, strongly.

The game will be finished one day that is for sure, or remain a playable prototype, like a bunch of my Flash games. Since it does require substantial amount of extra work, I won't be releasing it any time soon. The interest in this game is much lower than in any of my previous games. Basically, all I'm getting here is comments from other developers, designers and musicians and while we're all gamers, I was more interested in hearing opinions of core shmup gamers.

You referred to Dangun Feveron which really is frantic and exciting, but in such game, mechanic of moving shields left/right and up/down, loses the point, since the player has no time to think strategically and mostly moves left/right, up down the whole ship all the time. So, the pace of the game will remain current with exception of special places where it will become faster, during transitions, some bosses, etc. I don't think pace has any effect besides affecting the realism. I think slower pace is more realistic as there will be very large structures and larger bosses.

Thank you for commenting and for the wishes and I wish you all the same in your line of work / hobby!

I'm failing to follow what you're saying. I'm not talking in the game or on the video and the yellow sprite projectiles did what?

I didn't see mechanics that, for example, provide player with movement controls over shields and whatnot, in other similar games. It was one of the reasons I decided to make such a game, after playing many shmups. Anyway, thanks for commenting and for the wishes!

If you say so, I really hope you're right, because I received very little traffic from here to my website, and I'm assuming those are indeed mostly gamers. I've noticed that your KS campaign failed, just as I told you. Have you ever wondered how come some ridiculous campaigns get funded and serious don't? Do you know who's really behind KS?

So, are you receiving enough support for the game? Sometimes I'm under strong impression that there are no gamers visiting this website, only us, the developers and we're checking out each others games, which fine, fine, but futile.

Good luck from me as well, although I think only masons projects get funded on the kickstarter and such, because they tend to keep money flowing in their circles, the public part of it is only to lure and trick others to give them money so that the amount of money in their circles would rise. It's how pyramid of their advertisement scams work, anyway. So, unless you're connected to them, the campaign will fail, for sure. Wait and see. Sorry for being so blunt, it's just the way I am.

Not sure what you're talking about, there are hundreds of players contacting me. Some are haters like you, some are praising the game. I guess, the opinions about the game are split, but no one ever accused me of being the Master of Puppets.

They're extremely different as it can be seen from the screenshots or by playing the game. The main player is at the bottom on the screenshots, looking quite differently. Your advice is appreciated, but it makes no sense to me, sorry :)

codergames - - 36 comments @ Galaxide, on sale for the first time since 2010

Thanks for your support! There weren't many sales, but still, I didn't expect any. I'm extending the 70% discount sale of Galaxide until Invader Attack 2 is released.

This might seem like a big injustice toward people who purchased Galaxide for a full price in the past and even bigger injustice for people who purchased all 3 of my games, before I moved to a new reseller.

I want to take good care of my core supporters, so for all people who purchased all 3 of my games in the past, will get IA2 for free. And everyone who purchased only shmups will get 50% discount and last, but not least, people who purchased only Galaxide will get 20% discount.

Once I get new payment system working you will get an email with a coupon that you'll enter to get a special discount of IA2. If by any chance you don't get an email, please contact me directly using contact page on my website. The same information that I'm putting here will be posted on my website.

Linux already has a bunch of free multiplayer games that work way better than on Windows, it's just that people are used to Windows, because there are many more releases. Look at me, I'm making a game using cross-platform compiler and engine, but will only release the game for Windows. Maybe one day for Linux as well, if people accept the game.
