Description

First video from a personal project I have been working on using c++ and Direct3D. The aim of the project is to create a 2D-Game. So far I've really just worked on the basics. Setting up 2D and 3D rendering, building the physics engine, setting up the UI engine and input mechanics. Just wanted to publish something to show my progress.

The demo shows some early work in character navigation in a 2D level. The level is built using 2D triangle meshes and the character movement is based on my impulse driven physics engine. Right now the navigation has some interesting quirks that might or might not remain in the future.

The Monocle wearing, Top hat sporting, gentleman/coward yellow fat man sprite was created by a friend of mine. Most of his work can be found at Rickardbengtsson.com.

Thanks for watching!
