Until I uninstalled Virtus Per Verba today, long past the free giveaway, the 3 things you listed were true. Good things to look out for, yes, but again it seems arbitrary as to how Desura will actually handle things.

If true, Desura is effectively screwing people out of games who think the "Add to Account" button actually means "Add to Account".

I just installed and uninstalled a bunch of free games to test a few things out and it does indeed seem to be entirely arbitrary as to how the account will treat the titles. Often times, when installed, if you restart your Desura client, the titles will be seeming "removed" from your account, displaying the "Install Game" bit again on the game's profile page, despite being "Ready" in the client.

Which only happened after the "free" period ended. Before they were listed and accounted for, after, no longer listed on the profile, only in the games list in the client, no longer able to install. Desura seems arbitrary in what sticks and what doesn't, whether or not you have the game installed. Doesn't matter if you click "Add to Account" during the free period either.

You're lucky in that you actually got the keep the games after the free period, for a lot of people, it didn't stick, else you wouldn't see people, including the Chester dev, talking about it.

Try to install it. If you can, you're lucky. I've got both Chester and Virtus per Verba on my "play" pages, but I get an error telling me to purchase them if I try to install. I had had VpV installed when it switched over, but installing resulted in no longer being able to install.

Here's what happens to both: Virtus: I.imgur.com | Chester: I.imgur.com

When "free" doesn't mean "free". No fault on the part of the dev, but I was checking around a few other titles that were given "free" by the devs through Desura -- like Chester and Virtus per Verba. Apparently once a price was attached again, if you uninstalled, you could no longer reinstall without purchasing the game.

If Desura doesn't do something to change this, expect angry people after the 22nd or when the game gets Greenlit.
