Stern. Stern but fair.
An ambitious project for a niche market- I wish you the best of luck
This isn't the type of bear I'd expect Unikraken to post
(also this looks mind-boggling improved graphically)
As a general rule, don't expect Total Conversions to be compatible unless specifically otherwise stated.
Gorgeous. I always liked the Paris better than the original frigate design- the armor gives a weight to it and yet still has the look of being streamlined.
This looks so ridiculously polished. I'm honestly shocked more people aren't watching this one.
Lot of polish on this mod. Just wanted to say good work on it and that I'll keep lurking!
I'm a grown man now, a desk jockey. But I still take time to browse this mod from time to time. Swiss is currently doing great work running a YouTube channel "The Templin Institute" but god would I love to see this series get picked back up.
Congrats on the release and the solid, consistent work. I haven't had CnC3 installed in some time but it still warms my soul to see this get tended. I may just have to re-install it.
I'm both really impressed with the quality of the work and the fact that you're doing such a bang up job on a 13 year old engine. Big fan of the source material as well, of course. Keep up the great work!
Looks great. Did you get permission to use this model though?
Good to hear it's somewhat useful- I know helpful criticism is few and far between on this site. It's the not the idea of a overly bright or fun character to pop up that is the source of my comment, but the fact that I immediately recognized the emoticons as open source. Kinda took me out of the action in your screenshots. Can't wait to see what you'll whip out to replace it.
Looks absolutely gorgeous ingame.
To expand on a previous comment:
The HUD is working against you on creating a serious look. I'm struggling to come up with a criticism against the use of the emoticons chosen besides a more unhelpful "bad", but they're unimmersive to the extreme. These icons/pics don't have to be works of art but this mod would be massively improved in aesthetic quality with their replacement or even simple removal.
Anyways, good luck on this and I'll be continuing to monitor development. This is a very different concept from the usual mod, so its piqued my interest. Figured I would throw in my 2 cents.
While I admit it can look jarring in detail levels at the moment, I would say let's wait for the texture work to flesh out the rest of bow. For all its polish and presentation, it's still marked as a WIP.
Any thoughts on this. Mal? The work done so far is admittedly gorgeous.
Got any relevant media or info? You're gonna be hard pressed to get people to download it without it
Uhhh... I forgot my Camels in the car, let me go grab them.
I've always been a sucker for the classics
The Anarcho-Syndicalist Commune!
Is there an option to elect an executive officer for the week?
They need to hire this man, pronto.
Using ripped assets from the games is a dangerous gamble, one that Microsoft will likely go after if the mod reaches any significant size.
Additionally, the source you listed says it's using assets (with retroactive permission, I'll add...) from another Halo mod, The Winter Contingency. Be sure to feature a link up to that work so you can stay on the up and up of sourcing your assets.
Apart from that, good luck and have fun with development.
It's pretty bemusing to be on the watcher side rather than the dev- it doesn't matter how quality your content is or your obvious devotion to the mod, people just post "good god just release what you have already" repeatedly. Classic Moddb Americana.
Keep on trucking, Panzer
Clean, strong lines on this one.
Really nice work, Malcontent.
So Kaiserreich ideologies for the vanilla game?
This looks pretty slick. Always been a sucker for dinosaurs.
Yeah, this mod is way, way out of date by now. My laptop was bricked some time ago, so it'll be a while before I can come back to this.
Just wanted to log in and say that I'm having a blast with this mod. I've been keeping tabs on it due its occasional discussion at r/paradoxplaza and it made go out and buy Victoria 2 just to give it a shot. Thanks for the tireless development work and enormous amount of content you've put out.
I'll take you up on that, actually. Shooting you a message.
I appreciate that, chief. I'll be lurking.
After checking my Moddb messages after a few years of neglect, I'm kind of bemused by the amount of message inquiring about this mod. Who could have known that a mod I threw together in 2010 would get this much traction?
They really are. If I ever came back to this mod (doubtful, as I no longer even own UaW), I'd have to give a balancing patch a shot.
