Actually, you'd be surprised how many people still play it. :)

"Oh, the cost of items now means something. Obviously I need to cheat now. Wait, I can't cheat? HOW DO I HACK"
Inabiaf.
What "happened between us" was that Forumer had a hardware failure and they conveniently didn't mention that they NEVER MADE BACKUPS.
Not like I can do anything about how D2 mods work.
Check out the new patch.
You would have known this 3 weeks ago if you'd followed the news on upcoming patches btw.
There is another money trick that cannot be fixed, so fixing this one is also pointless. However cave snappers drop thousands of gold, giving you an easier way to get money. You don't seem to know how poison damage works (damage per second is added, duration is averaged) and the character screen only gives total damage without telling you how many years it may take for the poison damage to run its course. Those ghosts are on the website, but if you get killed by them more than twice without seeing the pattern you may want to consider making an MRI because there is something wrong with your logical thinking. Good to know your 'amazon' (rogue) merc is useful in Act 1 of the lowest difficulty.
You have no idea what you are talking about. That happens when you don't read the instructions.
Rank 110 LOL, just outside the MotY Top 100 without any advertising. I remember being in the Top 10 two years ago.
It's fixed thanks to the ModDB staff. :) +1
I said I removed the ModDB mirror from the official site because Desura is serving an outdated patch, even if you attempt to download the latest version.
If all goes well it should be sorted out soon though and then I can reinstate ModDB as an official mirror.
In the most recent v003 patch, warlocks (and the slow moving instant kill traps) have been removed because they were annoying instead of challenging.
> Mercs: the documentation tells you there is an invisible aura on mercs that gives them damage, exp gain etc; this is a workaround to make them scale properly to the new numbers. The merc needs to kill some monsters to turn this on.
> Cain and witches: if you think avoiding a motionless monster = "Einstein stuff", congratulations! You are a typical Diablo 2 player who gets laughed at by other game communities because Diablo 2 is a retardedly simple game with nothing but grind.
God forbid people have to use their brain at some point - then it's too hard. Daystar fire kills you? Get fire resist. A monster explodes corpses and this pwns you? Kill it first before you make other corpses. For some people this is too hard and mindlessly clicking on harmless monsters is "fun".
Something happened in society and now it is cool to be too lazy to think.
I'm sorry, I can't fix mental issues. For starters, your D2 version and PlugY version are unrelated to your mod version, which you didn't bother to mention but is nevertheless outdated.
How is it my fault you walked into "DANGER - UBERQUEST AREA" without bothering to read either the warning on the entrance or the documentation?
Uberquests can't be moved anywhere else (red portals would be ideal, but require code editing, meaning you're now restricted to a specific Diablo patch and operating system). And apparently a warning is not enough, you ignored it because who reads things in a Diablo game?
So you're saying "remove uberquests because I'm an idiot".
Video resolution can be improved with a separate mod, which you can find on google.
I would appreciate it if *I* got the choice whether to host this on Desura or NOT. THANKS.
Why don't you just download the website? :P Html doesn't lend itself very well for offline docs.
The problem isn't Vista or MXL, the problem is that multires doesn't work in 1.13. Backpatch plz.
By going to the actual download section. ModDB tries to trick you into clicking on the desura link. There's probably money involved there, which is why this link is so huge and the regular downloads are somewhat hidden.
Oh, just let me redraw the thousands of animation sprites they use...
High resolution: google for 'Diablo 2 multires', they have a tool for that now. It might even work, depending on your D2 version, operating system and whether the tool likes your PC.
I shouldn't have to implement ANYTHING. This is my mod and I implement the download methods I choose. Capiche ModDB?
If ModDB decides to distract people from the actual download with a huge banner and false message ('invite only') that's their fault and my problem because it's costing me downloads.
I like the distinction you make between 'the best' items and 'useless' items... what do you use when you don't have the best items yet? Nothing because other gear is useless?
Endgame gear is uniques and especially crafted items, which can be more powerful than uniques if you craft a lot. Runewords are easier to get than specific sacred uniques (and runes are much more versatile and reusable), so they're weaker, too.
The only time uniques are both better and more common than runewords is at low levels, which is due to the stupid unique creation recipe, which is there because people whined that if you can't get the best items for your level easily you 'have' to grind (?!) and the game is 'boring'. That was when I realised this game is 100% about items and power tripping so I kind of lost interest in the tactical side of things and just fed people more items...
I don't think copying 1 file will kill you.
Yeah too much unplayable trash out there. :(
Last year - hit #1 rank at one point. This year - #30 or lower. What happened? Witches pwned your collective ***?
