That's weird. There is no limit to the number of people that can follow you and I and many people have had more than 5-6 without problems. Could be you've found some very specific scenario... maybe you could email me your savegame so I can try and reproduce the bug?

On a Win8 machine the savegame will be found in:

Could you check the Event Viewer for errors? You can find it by going to the search bar in your start menu and typing "Event Viewer" (in Win7) or "View Event Logs" (in Win8). When it's open, on the left hand pane select Windows Logs / Application. Then look for any errors relating to Survivalist. If you find anything, message me via indiedb or email it to me (my address is on this page: Survivalistgame.blogspot.co.uk).

A few other questions:
- What Operating System are you on (Windows XP, 7 or 8?)
- What language is Windows using?
- What version of Survivalist are you running - did you get it from Steam? If so the latest version is v31, you can see the version number if you go to Settings & Info / Patch Notes.
- What graphics card do you have? How much memory does it have?

Sorry about the crash, any help you can give to track it down is appreciated.

On XBox or PC? Do you get a blue screen error report asking you to email the data? If so please email it... Otherwise if you're on PC please check the Event Viewer (aka View Event Logs) for error messages relating to Survivalist.

It's for charity, none of it would go to me. And you always can get access to the cheat menu by completing the game.

Just finish doing the other parts of the Complete the Game quest, i.e. plant enough crops, build enough outhouses, give skill books to your community members so there's at least one person with level 5 in each of the skills. Once they are all satisfied Isham will talk to you (or if he is dead you will get a quest to talk to someone else) about Alice's disappearance.

(This causes quite a few people confusion and will be made more explicit in v27, which I assume you don't have yet as you're on the XBox).

This only applies to the XBox 360 version (for now).

Go to the Desura page for Survivalist (https://www.indiedb.com/games/survivalist). Underneath the link where you would download the game there is a little Steam logo you can click on.

I think I like them where they are - it gives you an incentive to recruit more people to your community, as some might be good at those things. Also, there's always skill books.

Maybe. It's the most requested feature, but also a pretty difficult one to add. Now that the Steam release will soon be out the way I may be able to look into it.

They are used for some specific quests involving Alice, keep giving her insulin and you will get to them in time. They aren't a very big part of the game though - I originally wanted electricity to be part of base-building but had to drop it for lack of time.

How did it glitch?

What I'm working on now is the next patch, which I hope will also be the first Steam release.

Get the survivor with farming skill to equip ears of corn like you equip a weapon, i.e. using Left and Right on the d-pad (if using XBox 360) or the mouse wheel (on PC). You can then plant crops by pressing the A button (XBox 360) or left click (PC).

Why - did you steal all their crops or something?

Anyway I've been looking into what happens in that situation and I think there might be another bug - when Felipe Espinosa, their leader, dies you should get a quest telling you to search his body for incriminating evidence. You'll find a notepad on him, and reading that will progress the story. But without the quest telling you where his body is, it might be hard to find.

Are you on PC or XBox by the way?

I think I should have called it "find and neutralize all MAJOR regional threats"... it's referring to Los Ceros and something else that you discover if you play through the Missing questline.

If you chose "Money" when Alice asks what you want out of life, you need 100,000 gold. The only way to get that much is to complete the "Ed Dorado" questline.

A map editor is too big a new feature for me to add to this game, sorry. Cheats are unlocked by completing the game (by doing the quests).

If you ask people "What's up?" every now and then someone will ask you "What's the point of it all?" and you can then choose one of the other "Complete The Game" quests, i.e. "Money" or "Power".

It's in peer review but I don't know how long it will take, other developers have to review it and there are fewer around these days.
The cheats have to be a reward for something, if they're just available at the start it kind of defeats the point of a game.

Awardments and cheats (unlocked when you complete the game) will be in the next patch which I will aim to bring to XBox 360 in the next couple of weeks (patching the XBox version takes a while as it has to go through peer review process, which means other XBLIG authors have to test it and I test their games in return - it's fun but it takes time).

Will there be a sequel? - Probably, I hope so. Co-op? I'm not sure, it is a common request but could be tricky to implement.

A map editor would be took big a project for me I think, there is too much special case code in the game and the tools I made for my own use are not at all user-friendly. I may do a sort of sandbox/cheat mode where you can just spawn random stuff for a laugh, for people who've completed the game - it's been asked for a few times.
