I'm a software engineer, with a hobby to make software.
A fellow space shooter developer ;) Spin sounds cool, do you have a video of it in action?
Looks good! I'd probably do the characters in color.
Hi, I've had my ups and downs. I developed the controls for my game, and I've used it for a couple of months during the development to test things. By the end I was completely familiar with it, but many first time users were completely unable to use it. So I spent a lot of time to change the controls, with quite a few ideas, and updates, until finally I'm getting complaints about other parts of the game, and not the controls anymore ;) So my advice is to show it to others, let them make suggestions, and listen to them. In the end you'll have something, that they love to use. For me it was hard to give up what I came up with, but in the end it was worth it.
Thanks, I thought about doing a story mode myself as well, but I think it won't fit this game anymore, maybe I do a sequel ;) What I have in mind is a bit different though. I want missions more like in the fashion of what the real-time strategy games introduced. So you'd have a fixed map with some objectives. ie. you have to get to and destroy a certain boss. Or you have to defend a certain facility from attacks. Or you need to find your way through some tricky maze with hidden dangers. Or save some ally who's in trouble in the far parts of the galaxy. Well things like that.
Hi, I like the visuals of the game, and it looks fun to play as well. What does turn-based mean in your case? I thought this is more like a real time controlled game.
This is a great game, one of the few with a perfect combination of visuals and pace of gameplay to keep me motivated until there was no more levels left.
Love the design and music of the game!
Hey, this looks like a cool combination of different styles, please put up a video!
Hi, I played the browser version of your game. It's a good idea to provide something like that. So let me give you some feedback. The game instantly got my attention when I saw it, however the screenshots gave me no clue about the gameplay. You may want to comment them, or provide a checklist like the turn based board games do. Like 1. you append parts to the dungeon, 2. You place villains, 3. Let the visitor move, 4 see what happens, 5 goto start, and repeat based on what you saw.
Gameplay: I was a bit bored after some time, because the visitor wouldn't go to the interesting parts of my dungeon. What if you could also place something, that attracts the visitor, like a fainting light, a distant cry, that he/she is dragged towards more likely. You could also add more visitors right away, like one each turn with an upper limit based on the dungeon size? So you have more of them to take care of.
Graphics. I like the style of the game, it would also look good with more advanced graphics, but what was a bit weird is the combination of pixel art and hand drawn art, why is that?
So this looks like an interesting game, and it is fun to play, keep on improving!
Hey, thanks for the feedback. I'm working on adding a new game mode. Kind of and endless shooter mode, with an end after 1 minute. So it's like who can shoot the most in a minute. Then in future versions I will include bosses in this type of game and raise the one minute limit. And after that I plan to spice up the multiplayer mode with different power-ups. So there's more to come, and hopefully it will evolve into something, that people will come back and play more often.
I really enjoyed playing the game last night with many others online, lots of blimey, chop chop, and yay ;)
Will the mammoths have fur on iPad as well?
This latest video looks really cool by the way. I had a bit of a prototype feeling with the previous one. Anyway, let me have it, I wanna try the story mode! ;)
Have you tried the game yet? It looks less cool, than it actually is, so just go and see "four" yourself! It's free to download on the App Store, search for "space fight" and you should have it in the first screen. Feedback is welcome! I'm always looking to make the game better and more enjoyable for everyone!
