Yes, it should be coming in the next few days. It's been uploaded and the contacts at GOG have been notified.

Hey!

Would be nice if you asked me first before putting this out there. As stated before this editor can break maps, the draw type issue is just the tip of the iceberg. I solely released the editor on OTP to help people get rid of annoying BSP issues. It's good to use on maps that only has brushes and lights.

A new version is in the works (maybe a few weeks away) that will allow it to use the regular .u files that DX uses, so no more separate stuff or defprops issues. Could you take this down until then?

Why would you have to re-buy the Deus Ex GOTY if you already have it on GOG? Revision is listed under More -> Other on the Deus Ex GOTY library entry in GOG Galaxy.

What's the trouble with just getting it through GOG? We are forced to make sure Revision is only playable on legitimate copies of Deus Ex. Having the DRM:ed version here requires that you have it on Steam to work, or you can get the non-DRM:ed version through GOG. The alternative thing would be to only have it on Steam and GOG and nothing on moddb, and I'm sure you can all agree that having the DRMed version here is better than nothing.

That's our fault. No need to shout at them (although that makes them send us emails wondering what's up).

Problem was that shortly after the 1.3 patch we noticed some issues that were introduced by the patch and should be corrected. So we held off giving it to GOG until that was fixed, but what should have taken a few days sort of just ran out in the sand. However now we are releasing 1.3.0.1 that fixes those issues and a few more. And I'm uploading to GOG as we speak.

The thing really is that with Steam it's just the press of a button and the things are published. For the installers that I keep uploading here and on our site it's a bit more tedious, and the upload usually takes like 1 ½hours. With GOG you have to do all this + some manual sending of emails, so you really only want to update GOG when you are sure of it so you don't keep emailing back and forth.

We are already using Shifter 1.9.1. Biomod 1.1, that's going to happen at one point, can't say when though, there is a lot of diffing and merging of files (DeusEx.u consists of 1500+ files).

Well the version we have on our site (and here on moddb) is basically that, it's a NSIS installer of several 7zip files. Just point it to your DX install (it should find that automatically btw) and it will extract everything there (with the Steam launcher ofc).

That is weird indeed. I have no clue what's going on. Otherwise if you restore to our own launcher try changing the VSync options on the renderer, by typing preferences into the say prompt/console in-game.

Under rendering there should be something called SwapInterval or VSync (depending on render). For SwapInterval -1 is "driver controlled", 0 is VSync Off and 1 is on. Try the different options for the different renderers to see if that changes anything.

Also make sure VSync is set to Application controlled in your graphics control panel, Pre-Computed frames is set to 0\Application controlled and that Triple-Buffering is off.

Ok, so RI disabled in Kentie's (renamed Revision.exe) disables the mouse entirely?

Try supplying -localdata -USERINI=RevisionUser.ini
in the command line. The launcher should read Revision.ini and RevisionUser.ini at the bottom right. If that doesn't do it try deleting Revision.ini and RevisionUser.ini in the System directory (in case they got screwed up) and make new copies of them by copying and renaming RevisionDefault.ini and RevisionDefUser.ini respectively).

Alright, that is the correct ViewportManager for Revision. Try disabling Kentie's RI and see how that is (with his launcher). Cause he has some FPS limit in there as well that might affect things, we are not entirely convinced it's an RI issue, it might be something related to input lag.

Yup, it's not recommended to use it with Revision due to slight incompatibilities. Alright, so if you open up Revision.ini in DeusEx\System what does it say under ViewportManager?

Also if you try just for testing to use Kentie's exe with Revision (replace Revision.exe with his launcher, renaming it to Revision.exe), and then try his Raw Input, does that work?

That's odd. Are you using Kentie's launcher with Revision or our own launcher?

If you are using Kentie's, if you press the "Revision.ini" link at the bottom, what does it say under ViewportManager?

Are you running fullscreen or windowed?

The issue here was that the Dragon Tooth's could break almost any door in vanilla, allowing you to skip lockpicking or keys. Human Renovation tried to rectify this, however I'm still not really satisfied about the solution.

I thought tranqs did stun instantly if they were headshot.

Try removing Revision.ini from your System directory (and my documents as well if you use Kentie's) and then also set Revision.exe to run with Windows 7 compatibility.

This request was part in us being released on Steam, since that wasn't confirmed properly until very late we did not want to announce this until we knew it was a fact. Then we still did not have a fixed release date, so we were waiting for that date to arrive before making an update. Then it happened so sudden that we just released instead.

bjorn98009_91
bjorn98009_91 - - 499 comments @ Deus Ex: Revision

That's a problem with dynamically loading the textures HDTP uses. Since Human Renovation, Shifter or Biomod does not actually hardcode anything HDTP wise in their code, but instead dynamically loads it that's a general issue. Not much to do about that currently.

Glad you enjoyed it! DirectX 10 has performance issues (compared to DirectX 9), that's one of the reasons why we did not include it. It also makes the game slightly darker with ClassicLighting turned on.

I do not know what future updates to the launcher will include, simply cause we've not come to that point yet. I'm sure that a lot of stuff will be implementable in out other native packages like Revision.dll. For instance the raw input (mouse acceleration fix) is in WinDrvLite.dll. We'll just cross that bridge when we come to it.

I want a video of this upgrade canister behavior so I can see it in action. The only thing the launcher does it to run the main loop to tick the engine and then it also does some file handling. It doesn't contain any game logic at all. Again, that launcher wasn't cracked, it was leaked.

If you have it on steam, then why simply not just use the launcher that comes with the mod? Why mess with using other ones?!

bjorn98009_91 - - 499 comments @ Deus Ex: Revision

Ok, you are misinformed. There is no GOG version, there is simply a leaked version of Revision.exe that did not have the DRM. It also so happened to be the exe we shipped for 1.0 (with the DRM ofc), as there had not been any changes since it was leaked to 1.0. You make it sound like it's some official GOG exe they've made for Revision. As I said, it's a maintenance update only, simply to polish some stuff under the hood. Using the older exe still works fine since it's just internal changes in the exe and nothing that affects other components.

Sure, if you want the new memory allocation option for Win10 then yes you will need the new exe. However since I'm involved here I know better then you how important this new exe is, and it's not really that important at all.

Contrary to popular belief you don't have to match files exactly. Say if I replaced a map in the latest release with one from 1.0 it would most likely still work, it all depends on what has changed. If it's just stuff internally that has changed like moving code around or adjusting texture alignments then it doesn't matter. If there however are changes to how the code/map interacts with OTHER components, then it might matter. There are no such changes in this release. We simply included it in the update so people on Win10 that had crashes could try the new memory allocation option to see if that helps or not.

bjorn98009_91 - - 499 comments @ Deus Ex: Revision

Why do you need an updated GOG exe? What is wrong with the one you used before? We update our launcher when we need to, to include new features or improve stability. It's not as if GOG updates their launcher with our improvements.

The new launcher fixes some rare crashes like if certain .int files are not present (due to the user removing them) and it includes new memory logic that can be activated by adding -NoVirtualFree to the launch options. This may or may not work better on Win10, we don't know.

An experimental mouse acceleration setting will be released shortly in the next hotfix. I can't really tell if it works as expected as I don't really notice any difference (I never had acceleration issues in the first place).

bjorn98009_91 - - 499 comments @ Deus Ex: Revision

I can't make any guarantees about how other launchers work with Revision, that's totally "on your own risk". It was designed to use our launcher, so features may or may not work with others (like music was broken with Kentie's, but we fixed that due to popular request).

Honestly though I just think you just don't know how to play. Nobody else except you have had any issues with the aug upgrades and I've read a lot of bug reports and complains (we even have more then 500 issues open in our bugtracker).

As I said before it's either Steam, and only Steam or no Steam at all. And we've decided to go with Steam. Not only cause we can reach a hell of a lot of people (then we could not reach if going with moddb/our site), but also due to auto-patching that's super awesome that assures that people always have the latest patch installed and that provide users with the latest fixes as hassle-free as possible.

Contrary to public opinion I actually care about the players, that's why I'm almost working non-stop to fix stuff and push patches all the time. I could just as well just said "**** this, I'm out of here" but I'm not that kind of guy.
