I think it’s a good way to get started and that’s why I made it. I started out the same way loving half life but no clue how to mod, what I would do is start with basic map making first and work your way to better mapping and possibly coding, modeling and other modifications
Yes it does have a tool to decompile bsp maps but when you do it distorts textures and shapes so its not perfect and in some cases not very helpful to decompile a map.
Jackhammer seems to fix any texture distortion but Valve Hammer Editor does not seem to do it
I think the night vision replaces the flashlight, I don't think there is any way to get the flashlight back into OP4. The big problem is there might still be a flashlight in the code but you cannot spawn it in without the link and I don't think that Half-Life could spawn in the flashlight separate from the suit. In Spirit Of Half-Life you can though.
If its the weapons that you want from OP4 I can code the SAW, The M40, the desert eagle, the knife, the pipewrench and part of the displacer just from the code already in Half-Life. The Shock Roach, The other alien weapon and the displacer primary fire I would not really know how to do. But if you just want the guns let me know and I can try to get them made.
It is possible that the client.dll got corrupted at some point in time. The dlls in the modding kit are just default valve dlls, just go to your halflife/valve folder and copy the client, I would also copy a new server dll (hl.dll)
The HLMK does not contain official sdk for opposing force because it was never released. I do not have the code and would have no clue on how to code the npc's but I do know there is a tutorial out there on how to code the pit drone monster, and I seen people recoding the Gnome so you might be able to get code from them.
I thought I added the OP4.fgd file which allows you to use the OP4 dlls to make a mod. But I can not seem to find it so I must not have added it. I going to add it in the next update which will be released September 15 2017

MM7 always starts in admin mode for me for some reason, I remember that my computer put MM6 saves in a really weird spot, took me some time to find it. You might have to find this spot and put the save there. But like I said my computer will only start it in Admin mode
I tried this a few months ago on my Xbox One and it still works, what you have to do though is add the character to your 360 and then transfer it with character transfer to your Xbox One, I think PS3 and PS4 and do the same thing.
I will make a tutorial later on how to do it. I also had to install a newer version of Horizon to do this

Horde mode is very primitive in Puzzled, it is made entirely with mapping. I am working on upgrading Horde mode with a money system.
But to start it simply type "map hordebeta" in your console

I tried for a long time to put a follow command on a zombie to make a melee ally but I was never successful. The code compiles just fine and the command doesn't go through. Once I figure out how to do it I will upload it. Sorry for really late replies I just been working a lot.

The tools are kind of buggy, you save might be messed up to.
Try taking the file out of the save folder, modifying it then putting it back
I don't think so, There is a HL SDK on steam which has it. If I remember right the 3.X series is for GoldSrc and the 4.X series is for Source
Depending what you want,
For mapping most people use Hammer Editor, I recommend Jackhammer Editor as it is better.
Coding you need Visual Studio 6 or 10
Modeling you need Milkshake 3D to create and modify, or Jeds Model Viewer to modify the skins
Sprites you need Sprite Mage
Small things like this really make the game look better
Sorry for the late reply but I am guessing you have the sdk 2.3 right? If so there should be a file in there called hl.dsp open this with Visual Studio 6, or 10. You can not use the new visual studios.
After you open it it will bring up kind of a microsoft word program but you can see all the files that will be in the dll on the side, some were on the top bar should be a compile button. If not I think it is F9 key or F7 key, I get them mixed up because hammer editor uses one studio uses the other

I have received multiple error reports about the installer, I have not had anytime to upload a new one though.
I would use the archive, that should be glitch free

Thanks for using the kit, your customized mod is a neat ideal but it does need more than just custom sounds, maybe try to make it like a Mod Mess up. The Ottoman-Life Mod looks like a lot better, Maybe add some custom funny maps to

There are already Sandbox mods out there, this Kit is not fake. It has all the tools to make a mod, its really easy to make a map to. Every Half-Life Mod on Moddb is possible to make with the modding kit. You just need to know what you are doing
