I usually talk about and show very early project building on this page however you should go to armouredboar.com for news on my games.
Hey Vertelame thanks for the question!
Gameplay wise you have it exactly right, with your none hero units behaving similar to units from Mount And Blade however this will be a semi turned based environment to keep battles flowing smoothly when its not your heroes turn to act.
With commanding your troops the current design is to have a menu come up when pressing on any unit of a specific type. You will then be able to give that entire type of unit commands such as telling them to charge or hold.
Heroes will be fully controllable however, choosing where they move, ability's/items they use and so on.
The game currently uses a real time battle system however this causes issues when playing in hotseat mode against other players and not having not much control in general during fights.
The reasoning for a semi turn based system where normal units are controlled by the AI is this will allow for much bigger fights without slowing down the gameplay of turn based battles.
I will be starting the re-coding of the battle system soon so be sure to let me know if you have any problems with the current design.
Absolutely! Not only will you be able to play as a necromancer hero giving you a bunch of unique abilities but you will also be able to hire other lesser necromancer heroes to expand your army of the dead.
Thanks for taking interest and following the project! :)
Cant beat the first level of the custom campaign (The default warlords campaign). The level simply does not end.
Thanks for tracking and the suggestion! I’ll look into changing the designs for the structures as soon as the new UI and menu’s are ready.
The editor is a separate application that will allow you to create (map files) that can be read by Hero Keeper.
Thanks for the interest! :)
There will be alot more buildings added for adventurers to interact with and to help the kingdom itself.
Here you can see an adventurer exploring with a pet that will help him in combat.
Basic UI elements
Have an idea for Hero Defender or another one of our games? simply send your ideas to email@example.com and i'll look into adding them as soon as i can :)
There are now 32 cards in the game! :)
Love your moding and games, keep up the good work! :)
About half the images are from a custom engine but the newer ones are inside game maker as it suits the platforms im aiming for much better. hope this helps :)
Please note the animation in-game doesn't mess with the card background as it does in this picture.
This is now a very old build of the game, check the official indiedb page for more!
This update will be up later today
Keep checking back for more updates!
The weather in-game is currently falling leafs which is why there are leafs flowing across the screen and pitched on the floor.
As you can see this menu will have to change alot before it becomes user friendly but its fully working in this early version.
This is not the deck editing screen, on this screen you are able to place cards in the current deck you have selected. This also gives you a layout of all the cards you own and allows you to go through them all individually.
The race ability is active from the start of the game as long as you have this race selected for your deck.
The text is currently being drawn too close together and will be fixed now :)
Experimenting with card design to display more text.
The Computer using a zombie like deck against me, every zombie I kill will buff his reaper by 1/1 forcing me to leave his zombies alive until i take out the reaper.
The game is already released for android in its current form and you can find it on the Playstore, besides that we're developing a base for other platforms.
At the bottom you can see the new character from our last content update Albot who has the ability to summon smaller ships that help you hit the ball.
This ability controls the stats of the knight that wonders around the field defending the players tower if you choose the Knight class.
thanks for the interest and the tweet :)
