I mod games.
Happy anniversary! Here‘s to the next ten! 🙂
Make sure your extraction utility didn’t place the mod in a subfolder (nested Heroes Unleashed folders). The text file modscont.txt needs to be at the top level. If the mod still doesn’t show in the menu, you either have a corrupt download (rare), or didn’t extract with 7-zip (e.g. WinZip or WinRAR) and the archive didn’t get unzipped properly (happens all the time when using WinZip, WinRAR etc. instead of 7-zip). The archive is ultra high compressed (customized 7z settings) which many third party tools choke on.
If you’re the guy that PMed me over at Ghostrecon.net than this should be solved. It’s always people not using 7-zip to extract the mod. WinZip, WinRar etc. always mess it up.
Glad you got it sorted, and very considerate of you to post the solution. Hope you enjoy Ghost Recon: Heroes Unleashed.
I’m on Mac, so not an expert. Maybe try updating graphics drivers. You can head over to Ghostrecon.net and I’m sure our folks can sort this out for you.
Looking for 3ds Max and Blender modelers willing to help out, mainly with character and weapon models. Please drop me a PM here at ModDB or over at the GhostRecon.net forums (http://www.ghostrecon.net/forums/), if you’re interested. Thank you.
News and discussions about ongoing Ghost Recon: Heroes Unleashed mod development can be found at the GhostRecon.net forums (http://www.ghostrecon.net/forums/). You‘re all invited to join in and share your thoughts and opinions. I‘m looking for feedback / input for the next (2020) update.
I‘m a bit slow, at times. 🤪
Thanks, much appreciated. 🙂
The legacy addons do not take Heroes Unleashed all the way back to vanilla Ghost Recon, but they let you adjust a number of mod features to be much closer to the original game experience.
There’s a third-person mod available at GhostRecon.net
Same here. I prefer the original POV.
Thanks. Visit GhostRecon.net to download the 1st/3rd person view (and hundreds of other great Ghost Recon mods).
Link works. GhostRecon.net is the largest Ghost Recon community on the web, online since 2001.
Active game servers can be found here: 188.8.131.52
Belated thanks, Carl. 🙂
Multiplayer is alive and well. Visit GhostRecon.net and look here 184.108.40.206 for active servers.
Thank you. Glad you enjoy. 🙂
Thanks, glad to hear. 🙂
Thank you. Bullet penetration of inert material is often hardcoded in the (mostly third-party) map models and cannot be corrected. Sorry.
Thanks, nice to hear we share that view. 🙂
Many thanks for the nice words.
Iron sight zoom (and many other things) can be customized via included addon mods (see XTRAS folder). Single shot ROF admittedly is a bit of a compromise, and I may add customization options in future versions of the mod.
I comes with all original campaigns (updated / rescripted) rolled into one, plus extra missions.
Keep the kit arrows pressed to quick-browse equipment,
The XTRAS bonus content comes in 7z archives. Extract with 7-zip (or keka for Mac). Addon mods beed to be installed and activated in-game like any other mod.
Sounds like file corruption. Extract with original 7-zip or Keka (Mac).
Possible, although not on my todo list for now. However, there are some mods with French weapons at GhostRecon.net
Why not? 🙂
But seriously, if you have not played vanilla, I suggest you try that first.
Fixed in v1.0.1
