Awesome environment you have going there.

I think you are spot on with why the kickstarter fell short. Because backers have no guarantee that they will get anything out of giving you money they really need some eye candy or well presented ideas or information on what they are investing in.
Part of your design challenge is that may be trying to keep him overly simple since in your mind you are always worried about the amount of work animating the character. I suggest you try silhouette drawings first to see what you can do to make a clearly recognizable form unique for your game.

Interesting concept, must be an immense amount of work to execute.
I haven't been using it with rigging at this time, just frame by frame animation. Eventually I will get around to setting up assets to see if I like that workflow though. It is a beast of a program but an expensive one at that too.
Nice post, thanks for sharing. I haven't animated using the puppet tool for projects, most of my 2d animation work has been done in toon boom harmony.
Hey everyone, I have some free time at least for a few weeks so I am looking for work. Mostly a 3d animator but also a generalist, experience in Maya, After Effects and Premiere Pro. I can also do sculpting in zbrush if that helps as well.

I am a self taught 3d animator that is currently refining my skills at AAU in San Francisco. I started out in photography around 2006 and dove into digital editing in Photoshop around the same time. Eventually I roamed over to After Effects and applied previous knowledge to video and animation. During my experimental learning I was drawn into visual effects and wanted to figure out and understand how the images I saw on the big screen were created. This drive lead me into 3d as 2d editing only gave me so much control. After learning 3DS Max I had a rough understanding and decided to give effort to learning Maya as well. Upon gaining a competent insight on the software I decided animation was most enjoyable for me given it’s ties into psychology, acting, technology, art and other fields.
