Lol :) I just pressurized the hangar in Chapter 4, for the moment no problem in playing with Wine; I started under Windows, then switched to Ubuntu before ending the Box level, so I'm fully playing under Linux the first map with weapons.

Great! I made it available there: Doomitalia.it (still have to create its own page, having very few spare time at the moment).

While I would like to try Wine compatibility (as I did in 2019 for Episode 1, with only partial success), now I'm apparently stuck at the very beginning.

I managed to perform items 1, 2 and 5 of the ToDo, but about the escape plan I was able to interact with it (USE button) once, and now nothing appears anymore by getting close.

About the Box, I tried to open with the lever (which broke out), then I picked up it... where do I have to put it? Apparently no interaction is possible in the whole room...

I'm in hell (6th level), the only bug noticed so far is a charset iso8859/utf8 problem, for which for example à is Ã.

Ok, I played the whole episode: e1m1_2 worked fine at all, but as I finished the map, the loading of e1m2 failed due to a malloc failure. I retry, and this time e1m2 loaded correctly, so I was able to play the whole map. The malloc failure occurred again while loading e1m3, but this time not only once, and I had to switch to Windows to play the map; also, trying to load it on Linux, after having played a part of it on Windows, resulted in a plain crash without infos.

Nevertheless, I cannot say, at least for the moment, whether by setting differently Wine (but I did not experience particular problems with other mods/TC), or by playing on a more powerful machine (the PC on which I played is almost 10 years old, although I lowered some detail levels from defaults), these failures would not occur.

I just tried to play it in Linux via Wine, by giving from terminal the command "wine doom3.exe +set fs_game tfphobos +set fs_game_base d3xp +seta com_allowconsole 1", and it seems to work fine; I will alert you if something goes wrong later.

By the way, I've upload Episode 1 also here, in order to offer another mirror: Doomitalia.it . As soon as possible I will create a page all devoted to this mod.

Hey man! I was looking for two patches, v1.1 and v1.2, relative to Doom II in/for Doom 3, of which you are the author. But GameFront does not host them anymore, probably because an old version of the database was reloaded when it changed property. Can you kindly tell me where I can find them? Thanks in advance!

A zip package is online here: Doomitalia.it , it contains the files which are extracted by the executable, with the same folder structure.

Ok! This week I'm on holiday and I don't know how the connection here deals with the uploading of large size files, but next week I will retry by repacking.

I can confirm that it works fine also on Ubuntu, and I want to join the congratulations for this great mod/game which is basically timeless like the Nexus in Star Trek: Generations. :)

By the way, I'm trying to upload the installer on DoomItalia in order to offer another mirror, but every time I try, by downloading again the uploaded file and executing it, a problem with the checksum of a file arises, so the installation does not result complete. I still wasn't able to figure out where the issue stands, but I'm considering to upload a package with the unpacked files, if feasible... ;)
