To add onto this: Those devs left to create their own mod called Unification. The tau titans and units will be available there when they release the mod which I think is in mid Feb.

What is the scope of unification? Updating existing races while *unifying* other race mods to be playable together?

Will unification have more unit cap / techs / relic units similar to UA? Or does it adhere more to vanilla playstyle, with special units capped etc.

You can play it if you set up port forwarding, then host the game through direct IP, give your friends your public IP and they can join afterwards.

So I've been experiencing a rather unusual bug with Expanding Fronts/SWGB on my Steam copy, on Windows 7. I thought I'd share my solution here in case anyone else was having issues.

Problem: Sometimes the game crashes when hitting cancel/exit, and the only solution I had was to restart my PC, which was obviously annoying so I had a look at what was causing it. It turns out there's an svchost process which is causing SWGB to hang: TapiSrv (it's description is listed as Telephony, no idea why this causes the game to crash but it does for me.)

So if you're on Windows 7 and you have this issue with SWGB, open task manager, go to services, look for TapiSrv, right click and select Go To Process, then end the highlighted process. Should be able to start SWGB up now without restarting PC.

Even if they couldn't I'd still like to see the enhanced edition water textures replace galactic battlegrounds water, it looks a little bit nicer.

They're only in the scenario editor for balance reasons. While the new unit classes like the attacker, interceptor, mech transport and cargo freighter are a part of every faction. The issue is that factions like Gungans or Wookies don't have capital ships and it'd probably be a pain to make them from the scratch.

Has anyone else had a bit of a weird issue where after closing their game and trying to re-open it again, they receive the Not Responding message? If I restart my computer and open the game up it works fine, but as soon as I close it and need to restart the game itself, it won't work.

Suggestions?

Edit: Is there an official bug report thread somewhere?

Been having the same issue. Vanilla multiplayer works fine, but for the mod we get a sync error after 10-15 minutes.

I think they said there aren't isn't enough content to make entire factions out of them. Maybe if there's more material in the EU and new movies maybe? They're basically just reskinned Rebel Alliance and Empire anyway, although you can find some stuff in the scenario editor like the First Order TIE Fighter and Star Destroyer.

Would it be possible to nerf the Rodians/Quarren/etc? Was just playing through the clone campaign on the Tatooine level and they are ungodly powerful for some reason. The Rodians have something like 175-200HP with 29 attack.

That probably depends on whether or not they can rip the assets from the game tbh, and whether or not DoW 3 would even be moddable to the extent that the original game is

Hi there,

Was just wondering if the AI is still being improved? I played a few games on Hard difficulty but the AI is not very aggressive, they build very little and take a lot of their time before attacking, or attack in few numbers, this was however against only the Space Marines, but I read the changelog and it said that they had been revamped.

I will try out higher difficulties later but I thought Hard was the most intelligent and hardest they play without resource cheats.

Trying to launch the game with the launch parameters set to use the mod causes a crash upon startup, "Medieval 2 has encountered an unspecified error and will now exit". Using Steam, Windows 8.1 and can run vanilla perfectly fine. I've followed the 3 step guide and to no avail.

So the game actually has the loading screen but crashes after a couple of seconds. I pulled this from the error log:
