Actually, in the latest release of Unity NavMesh was release now as a free feature available in Unity free and you can easily use it for basic pathfinding.

I understand all that, I work with Unity alot myself but just look at some of their weekly or whatever is reports they do what? 1-3 models and then they just say: "The coder team worked on many bugs and improved performance" ...

I lose respect for this guys because they just picked an awesome engine and made a "game" (WIP) with it and they get tons of credit while there are here in IndieDB tons of people that make games from scrath that may look simplier but took much much more hours to make than this.

It's so easy to make a good game when you have unity pro, most of the feastures they list here are just, like the oclusion culling data, unity features and they get credit for it ... I would only congratulate this games if they made this from scrath.

PS: Also the profiler they use to see performance is a unity feature and the problem with the collosions they have is simply fixed by checking a option box in unity called Convex. Anyway they get credit for things they don't make.

Unity graphics are veyr good, the graphics you see here is because he probably as unity free which contains little to no graphic effects, however the crappy graphics of the video are the developers fault they can WITH Unity free bake shadows which looks really good although they are static.

The problem is that most likely none of them will ever get done, it all started with Dayz however all this small developers won't get anywhere alone, they should stick together and make one awesome game :D

The system requirments for this game are rediculous for it's graphics the game doesn't look that good and yet requires a i series cpu to run good.
This indicates poor optimization which means lazyness from the developers so expect other bugs.

I don't want to disencurage u but this game should be free but a paid optimized and bug free sequel would sound fun.

Amazing game I must say, that's interesting because I'm developing a game similar to yours, also top-down, but set in ww1, I'm using unity BTW.

Also, I have to say that I learned pretty much all this in 1 or 2 weeks, Visual Basic, however I'm still learning new things as I continue developing the game.
I'm still going to need about 2 mounths to finish this so if in the mean time you want to help me please PM me :D Good Luck

Thanks for your reply about the game, I'm working on it everyday :D
I started programming because 3 mounths ago a friend of my brother was showing me and my brother some of the stuff he made in C++ and Java and he said that he started programming when he was 15 and that it is important to start soon so the next day I started investigating and searching for where to start. A lot of people mentioned C++ and Java for been good starting languages so I just decided to start there. I consulted some books but for me the best way to learn was from thenewboston videos on youtube (just search: [programming_language] tutorial thenewboston ). But C++ was a little lame for me, in the really basics all your programs are just a black background and some text. For about a week or two I did pretty much nothing in terms of programming until I found Visual Basic (My game programming language) with a much nicer interface and must important of all ... pre-programed buttons, labels, textboxes and everything else.
Overall I think you should first see if your favorite games for pc are modable, if you don't know what that is search on google, than lear how to mod them, start with basic changes to the game code and then start adding items and other stuff, depending on the type of game, and then move to c++ or java or even Pascal, do some basic programs and then move to Visual Basic.
Visual Basic might seem very simple but is acctually really complex and offers a lot of possibilities.
When I finish my game (maybe 2 mounths) I will move to Unreal Engine and Unity3D or something like that to get into the real making of games. About these engines I know as much about them as you probably do :D

I wish the best of the luck :D and sorry about the long text

First of all hi and congratulations on your game Wake Up Call, and to answer your question I'm using a program called Visual Basic Express 2008 (You can google it for more info) and with this program you can drag the buttons in the layout everywhere you want them to be.

PS: Basic (this program programming language) is quite a bit differente from java but there are tons of tutorials in the web including newboston videos in youtube.

I can only say 0.08 looks awesome, this is promissing, also, I would like to help you guys testing, I'm not a very good coder or a good 3d modeller but I would really like to help testing the game.

Here are some things I would like to make you notice:

- When you reload and you press SHIFT you can still sprint.
- In the Humvee, the stearing wheel doesn't turn.
- Sometimes when you shoot, other veihcles weapons also start shooting (at least the shooting animation appears)
