Hello,
I am currently in need of a writer for a game I am developing. The game is about a legendary character in Pashtun folklore Amir Kror Suri. This project is a passion project of mine, whatever I earn from my day jobs I invest into this project.

What is Needed?

The following things are needed from a writer

  1. Can develop well rounded characters
  2. Can develop plots or scenarios that are multi faceted i.e. plots that are political, dramatic, emotional, individualistic and also collective.

For the Writer's information

  1. The plot of the game takes place between 710 AD to 771 AD.
  2. It revolves around the life of Amir Kror Suri, who was from the North Eastern province of Afghanistan (Ghor).
  3. Very few points are known regarding Amir Kror's life which I shall share with you if you are selected.
  4. If you are selected understand that whatever dialogues you write will be translated to Pashto as this game will be presented in the Pashto language with English Subtitles.
  5. If you are selected please determine the rate for your services and once this rate is fixed and agreed upon it is non negotiable.
  6. I will not pay by the hour and I will not pay extra for any revisions agreed upon of pages or chapters.

Plot Points (Opening Scene)

  • Amir Polad Suri's (Amir Kror's father) father (the former chief) has been felled in battle and now the Sur settlement is without a Chief
  • (Historical Note: Much of North Eastern Afghanistan was under the control of the Umayyad Dynasty up until 750 AD)
  • Emissaries from the Umayyad Empire's Capital have arrived to discuss the election of the next chief of Sur.
  • (Historical Note: The Pashtuns along with other Central Asian tribes chose their chiefs via system of indirect elections where lesser chief or heads of various households would come together to elect a Malak or Greater chief)
  • Simultaneously Amir Polad's wife has gone into labor
  • Point of Tension: Amir Polad must keep his composure with the emissaries but at the same time is also worried about his wife
  • (Cultural Point: Prior to the spread of Wahabi Islam in the region Pashtun Men and Women worked along side each other during this period and the idea of Segregation of the sexes emerged around the 1800s.)
  • Additional Point: Rainy weather with a solar eclipse happening simultaneously
  • Amir Kror is born however while he was being taken to the Central Tent for his father to see him, the shadow of the moon is cast upon him which the people at the time consider to be a bad omen.
  • Point to Remember: These were Nomadic People
  • When he is brought back to his mother to the maternity tent, his mother inquires of the midwives in regards to their worried faces to which they respond that the sun cast its shadow on the newborn.
  • She smiles and gives the following speech: "You say that my son is a bad omen because the sun cast its shadow on him. However if you remember prior to this rain there was a heatwave. The day my son was being born the sky shed its tears in celebration of his arrival. The sun hid itself so that it does not scorch my son". (You can paraphrase or improve upon the language of the speech if you wish).
