A user in the unity forums discovered, that an export option for a LinuxPlayer is in development.

A member of Unity Technologies then confirmed their plans:

Vectrex, it seems you've got us on this one

We are in fact working on Linux support to be released initially as a preview feature. We have no set release date yet.

If they'll do this right, this could bring us many new linux games. Unity is quite popular and widespread today.

Isn't it Unity Web Player support for Linux? Browsers only, and only playing not creating. ;-) You know, both Unity editor and Unity games should receive Linux support.

not necessarily the web play, but only games support, yes. It's not about the editor. Sorry for not making this clear enough.

the former netbook GUI and new interface for all ubuntu versions is called unity. But this is not connected to it. Unit 3D is a 3D game engine and a set of tools for it.

So, I see, Unity (the engine ^^) was coded with... Dot.net (or C#) ?
Unity will probability use Novell Mono, the linux port will be hard to work...
