Heya,

I'm unable to use Desura Client while behind a proxy.I have tried set the env var http_proxy, https_proxy and ftp_proxy but it give me error:

Load Failed
Load of URL failed with error code -118.

wherever I'm going. I can only login.

I'm using openSUSE 12.1 64-bit with latest Desura Linux client.
Is there a way to solve this?

Thanks.

I have the same problem. When I try to download a game I get a this error message:

"did not get any data from mcf server"

Which apparently is related with proxy.

When are we getting proxy support on linux?

I'm using Ubuntu 11.10.

Now that the client is open source that is definately something you can talk with open source developers about adding in to the client. If your a programmer then you could add it yourself now.

I just hope somebody involved with the development of the linux client reads this, because I would also like to see proxy support.
Sadly I can't do it myself, because I'm not a programmer.

Oh wow, this was super annoying. Despite in System/Preferences/Network Proxy having "Direct internet connection" specified and applied System-wide, I still had something lingering in environment variables. I am now launching the linux Desura with the following script:
--
#!/bin/sh
unset ftp_proxy
unset http_proxy
unset https_proxy
./desura
--
And I can finally start installing and playing stuff. Now I can start putting proxy settings back for everything else.
