Post news Report RSS Dark Souls finally coming to PC?

We might finally be getting our hands on, in my opinion, the greatest rpg of 2011.

There has been a petition going around asking for the release of Dark Souls on pc. Well it looks like our prayers have been answered. According to Rock, Paper Shotgun a thread on NeoGAF says the German magazine PC Action is now working on a preview for Dark Souls. While this isn't exactly a confirmation it's going to be released, it is a good sign.

Rumors speculate that there will be new bosses for the pc version, but everything else will be the same as the console version. Also, we could be seeing this brutal game as soon as August.

For those of you who haven't been fortunate enough to have played Dark Souls on either the Xbox 360 or PS3, let me just say, you're missing out big time. This is a wonderful game. The difficulty is on par with that of the most hardcore 8-bit games of old. The style and atmosphere is one that has to be witnessed first person to really be able to totally appreciate it.

Dark Souls
is a spiritual successor to Demon Souls that was released exclusively for PS3. Demon Souls was a more structured game with levels accessed from a main hub as opposed to the more open-world environment of Dark Souls. It features some very creative multiplayer options such as, being able to team up with up to 2 other players to take on bosses. This is done by leaving a mark on the ground that other players can see. If a player wants your help, they only have to interact with your mark and you will be summoned to their world to help them topple any foes they might be having trouble with. The rewards and extra XP are very good for helping other players so expect to see marks everywhere in front of the entrances to boss fights. There are also covenants that players can join if they take the time to seek them out. Some are very easy to come across while others will take a bit of exploring to locate. One covenant, for example, Forest Hunter, led by a giant cat named Alvina , are the protector's of the forest. Any time another player invades this forest, you will be summoned(no matter where in the world you are, as long as you have the Cat Covenant Ring equipped)to the forest to take on the trespassers. As you kill these other players, you will be rewarded with a random shard that you give to Alvina to progress levels in the convenant, which she then gives you sweet loot not found anywhere else in the game.

I'm so excited to see this game on pc myself. I just can't imagine what the modding community is going to achieve once they get their hands on this lovely gem. Get ready guys, you are going to love this game.
