I have some advice for you. Don't add a lot of polygons till the shape has been well established in low poly form higher poly detail is the last step of the modelling process you have a lot of unnecessary polygons around the grips and under the stock. also, all your geometry needs to join up together that arent separate parts. Heres an example of an MP5 I.imgur.com all the vertices are joined up and the overall shape of the mp5 is established with a lot fewer polygons this, in turn, allows greater control of the model to add a lot more detail as you already have the basic shape.

Hope you can take that as helpful advice from one 3d artist to another :)
