Indie of the Year is the largest celebration of hobbyist, amateur and professional Indie developers. With record attendance and a massive number of updates, releases and new projects 2010 was a year like no other, packed to bursting with goodies to make anyone who is tired of the boring triple A games excited again!

For the first time in IndieDB history we have a press panel which sees personalities from other websites like Joystiq and Rock Paper Shotgun have their say were it counts. It takes a great idea and years of hard work to make a brilliant game reality. Without a shadow of doubt the biggest prize is the coverage and prestige the winning team recieves. However while we know you do it for experience and for the love of making something new, to thank you (the winning teams) for your creativity and dedication, we have a few small prizes to hand out from Desura.

- Indie of the Year, wins a $1000 sales jumpstart package (provided we can release your game on Desura and it is commerical, we shall help you reach $1000 of sales in the first month of release or we will pay the difference)

- All Editors Choice and Top 100 Players Choice, receive a the opportunity to discuss publishing their indie game on Desura. Provided you meet the requirements, we shall do all we can to get you setup on the service and get a big new playerbase.

So if you are a developer currently exploring the power and potential of UDK, we have a special competition just for you. Thanks to Epic Games the makers of the UDK game engine, the top UDK game as decided by the Players Choice and Editors Votes will win:
- A flight to the Epic offices in Cary, NC to meet the developers behind UDK and Epic's games
- A maximum of 5 developers from the winning team will be flown in for 1 day/1 night
- Visit will entail studio tour and presentation of their project in "The Arena" (A large open area in the Epic offices)

Their collection of Source and Unity engine tutorials cannot be beaten, and the winning team in each Players and Editors choice category will be receiving:
