Xenocrystalloid Contentions is a first soloist project developing using Esenthel Engine, it is a 3D TPP Action-RPG set in fantasy world with rich lore, and extraordinary features, taking place in different dimension, a world of Acthelms, full of magic, mystery and crystal. Player will takes a role of warrior, training themselves

As the name suggests, the game will take place on arena which are either survival or mission based. No real story/campaign mode for this version.

Brief Key Gameplay Features

  • Multiple Playable Character, each have their ability and playstyle.
  • Character Based Customization, Character Management, all inventory, money, resources, etc. are all accessible by all characters via Character Management, which allow player to customize their characters. Player can customize their character as they see fit, player can use any weapon available on them, select their ability, adjust their statistic, specified the talent.
  • Unique Equipment Reforge, ever have some cool looking equipment but so weak to use? with this unique reforge, you can craft an equipment with that look and upgrade them to be boss-like equipment, as all equipment can be break to research their model, stats or enchantment.
  • Interactive Combat, this game focus on reaction of player, as they can jump, block, dash, sprint, access to interactive power gauge, and move freely while attack or using non-channeling ability. An attack can be adjust upward or downward and aim for their head for critical damage! While, taking too much hit will stagger them and become vulnerable temporary.
  • Lore based gameplay, Some gameplay element are based on lore, such as how Healing Potion , Healing Ability and Regeneration help out each others.
  • Ability System, each ability can have up to 3 usage style, most have highlight effect which give additional effect if player selected it, Locational ability are not fixed in distance, you can adjust depth if target are too closed in or even targeting mid-air. Player can have up to 9 ability ability at a time.
  • Single or Co-op, play alone or with friends using direct IP.

And much more as development and designs progress.


This is my first attempt of making real game, where I self-learn C++. So I'll use mostly free resources or very cheap one.

Page Update

News

Sorry for not updating a while, the development are quite slow with all student and experimenting stuff.

I have focused on developing gameplay, so I don't have things to show off too, but now some gameplay element are done, with some GUI changes, and I guess it's ready to show the progress and how game will be played.

I want to mention that, I'll focus on arena/mission mode for now, as resources are not sufficient.


Plan,
I currently bug hunting, once done I'll continue some gameplay elements, before moving to implementing network.

I'm not sure when the game is ready for alpha/beta phase though.


Help needed,

  • Any feedback in both gameplay and recorded video would be great.
  • Arena Mode, I'm currently design how arena mode, maybe wave based or survival? if you have an idea, feel free to contribute.
  • Resources contribution. Due to being first project, I want to keep it free or very cheap, using free resources, so while I can find some in free site, but you can help contribution some of yours too.

I was once planned about open-world, but due to my experience, time, university and working solo, I have scrap a lot of things for next game, perhaps sequence.
Still, some game features didn't put into description yet, I'll try to update once I finish network.

About menu background, I set camera and particle source in the menu, then render them.

shame this game wont have a campaign in open world.
