X-Isle is a free to play, 2D scifi Online RPG set on a prison island, in a distant future. An ode to the classic 16bit JRPGs of the past, XI is a modern day ORPG full of interesting features and exciting secrets. Powered by the XtremeWorlds engine, X-Isle has been in development since 2006. Get ready for a life sentence on X-Isle with 250 levels of content, gang wars, minigames, PvP, many dungeons and quests, all within a unique and atmospheric scifi setting.
Massively ambitious, yet built on a woefully outdated engine, X-Isle has always been a problem child. Dreams of a full, active server and reliable hosting were never quite attainable and it is with sadness in my heart that I've decided to pull the plug on X-Isle for good.
I'd like to thank all of the dedicated players who have supported X-Isle throughout its development.

It was a great game, I enjoyed playing it. Sad to see it go!
The engine seems great might use it to make a game with my friend. I really though about it and we are going to make an MMORPG similar to your's (X-Isle) but different at the same time so it will have different style, content but will have around 50 maps (not including caves, rooms etc.) that players will do quests on. We live in Britan and have lots of time on our hands so if any one experienced with coding and adding animations would like to join is welcome. I hope you support the fact we are going to use this engine State209 and we also could use your help if your. We were also thinking about adding new features eg rare, elite, legendary items from different type of monsters. If your interested in my offer State209 contact me through the E-mail - Oskarproficz@Gmail.com
Oh no XtremeWorlds. But this is looking pretty good for XtremeWorlds game. Good luck with it. But you should call it just ORPR (online role-playing game) and not MMORPG (massive multiplayer online role-playing game).
The Stigma of XtremeWorlds games/type games does not belong with X-Isle. It finally takes the engine and all of its capabilities and makes a great game that deserves to be played. If you enjoy SNES type games I recommend this game. It is a lot of fun and really well made. And really balanced at that.
Thanks. And, I agree, but ORPG is not an option IndieDB presented me with. And calling it a RPG (without the O) feels more off the mark than MMORPG.
