Hey all! Exciting news from the Jolly Corpse team! Looks as if we've been picked up by several distributors for the final release of Wyv and Keep! What does this mean for us? That we will have our lovely little gem hosted on the popular distribution platform Desura and Playism for our Japanese local release. What does this mean for you? Well, you're going to be getting an even better product that will be readily available to you, wherever you hoist your flag!
On top of that, Playism is having a booth at the Tokyo Game Show, and they invited us to be a part of the experience! While we couldn't attend (Tokyo is a little far away for our wallets at the moment), we are thoroughly thrilled and honored to be a part of one of the largest video game shows on the planet!! To commemorate the experience, we have created a TGS specific video, showcasing the newest and greatest Wyv and Keep preview build. This is the build available to those of you who preorder the game. It includes animated backdrops, a tuned up engine, and 2 brand spanking new levels! Not to mention our good ol' editor for your use!
On the topic of the editor, we're getting ready to reopen the Jolly Corpse forums. These were pillaged by forum bots the first time we tried them, but with some added security, we're hoping that we can fend them off for a bit. If any of you fans would like to help us out and provide moderator duties, we would be hugely grateful, too! The forums are exciting because not only do they allow for you guys to talk about the game and interact with us (we love comments and questions...wink wink), it will also be an opportunity for those of you with the Preorder to build and share levels with one another!
It's all coming soon, so keep checking back with us!
Every time I see this, I can't help but think of what a waste it is. All those beautiful tiles and sprites, and all spent on a block-pushing puzzle game...
Just imagine how fantastic this could have been as a metroidvania/action platformer D:
Well thanks for the compliments on the graphics! Hope we can change your opinion on the game itself. There's much more to it than pushing blocks ;)
I'm sorry; I didn't mean to say that your game looked "bad" in any way! The gameplay looks very fanciful, and I would like to try it out for my self. I'm just disappointed that it's not a metroidvania, because I always get a metroidvania-vibe looking at your marvellous artwork :3
Perhaps we'll do that next! ;D
@Theon Ouch that's kind of harsh to call it a "waste". I'm sure ajollycorpse is working extremely hard on this game, and you just called their hard work a waste. Be careful with your words...
Yes, I'm sorry, I might have come across as a bit harsh there; It's just that I LOVE metroidvanias, and this LOOKS like one from a distance...
I just wish there were more metroidvanias in this world :(
Good luck with Wyv and Keep, though! ;D
I bought this game with the Alpha bundle and I honestly love it. It was probably the strongest game in that bundle, I know it is what sold me on it. Thanks for all the updates and hard work. one odd question, was the Lost Vikings any insperation on the play style? It reminds me of that so much.
