Hello there! On the 2nd birthday of WWII Operations: Desert Front, we are going to look back on great achievements with the game. It has been a long road, and what makes it worth it is the journey we have gone through.

1. IndieDB Headlines - February 11th, 2020

Desert Front Headline

It was the first time one of our games was ever featured, we were shocked at first, like everybody would. We soon realized that W.W.II Operations: Desert Front was not just a lucky game, it's got potential.

2. Game Jolt Indie Friday - September 5th, 2020

Gam Jolt Indie Friday

I thought it was over since it had been 7 months since the IndieDB headline, but then one day I received an email from Game Jolt, you could guess what it's about, we got that epic Weekly Featured Game status on Game Jolt, our followers started going up real fast. It also got on featured on the Shooter page of Game Jolt according to my friend, but I wasn't around that day so I sadly missed our achievement :c

3. Indie of The Year 2020

Now that's a great achievement, you guys have voted for us to be part of the TOP 100 games on 2020, it may not have won the award itself, but we are super happy that it got into the top 100 already. Images can't explain, so this is a link to the Top 100 page in 2020, scroll down the the "First-Person Shooters" section and you'll see our little game there :0

Top 100 Indies of The Year 2020

Sadly we hadn't got anything in 2021, but it's fair, it's a 2020 game, we are still happy with its achievements. We've gone this far thanks to you guys, if it hadn't been for you, Desert Front would've been forgotten.

THANK YOU!

The game did have multiplayer at first, but for months the servers had been empty so we decided to cut its support, we're really sorry about it :(

Good work, looks good. looks Like call of duty 1 but unfortunately i can't play it. After installation I get this message: Unable to execute file. c:\games\WWII operations desert front.exe

Create process failed: Codee 740.
The requested operation requires elevation.

How can I solve this?

Edit: Now I am able to see the main menu window but when I click on start i get: "Runtime error 1507 - Display using 32-bit is not supported by available hardware at line 0.".

Hi there, we are sorry to hear this issue.

For the first issue you can try playing the game as administrator with compatibility mode.

The second issue though, is a bit tough to fix, you probably need DirectX 9 to run the game properly along with suitable desktop resolution, there is a link to the latest DX9 installation from Microsoft in the game's description. If it does not work, please let us know, we will work on a new fix to this.

hello, can i reply here? if not u can delete this message, this is just for info purposes, maybe it can be fixed: well, the first issue went away once i started settings.exe and exited/saved it. for the second issue: i have directx10 installed and deactivating all graphic effects in settings, start the game as admin, and xp compatibility mode didnt't help. i guess my laptop is too old and the graphic chip is bad but it supports directx10 (intel mobile series 4) but opengl support is very poor on this intel graphics hardware. other specs: resolution 1280x800, 4gb ram, intel dual core centrino, windows 8 pro x64. maybe this helps somehow.thanks!

Edit: your second game (greaaat!) OSS works on the very same laptop (due to my specs i must play with low settings, 800x600, but it is ok, playable and no errors)!. weird..it's the same engine as desert front...maybe this info is useful.

Thanks a lot for the info, about the DirectX issue, you actually need to install the latest DX9 version, it won't overwrite the current DX10 version you have, it's just for the game to work properly.
If none works, we are adding a resolution changer as a bonus file to fix this issue. You just need to download it, put it in your game folder, and use it to change the game resolution to 1024x768, it sucks but it might be the only way to get the game working.
