"Zefyr: A Thiefs' Melody" is a tribute to old adventure games like "Beyond Good & Evil" and "Zelda Windwaker"; it features exploration, dialogs, fights, puzzles, collectibles and huge Boss battles, all wrapped in a colorful world with a contemplative and feel-good atmosphere.
In an ocean-covered world, you play a young thief studying at the Thief Guild. You'll learn basic moves and will be send to various missions to retrieve items in different places from pirate islands to wealthy villas or even the governor's palace. By completing these missions, you'll earn enough to unlock and learn new abilities including melee fight, range weapons, bombs, grapple, ...
Run, jump, and climb wherever you want, travel between islands on a turtle, and discover a colorful open world!
Be it pirates, guards, robots or other thieves, you'll face many challenges during your missions. You are free to play sneakily or go straight to confrontation. But choose carefully!
During your journey, you'll find ancient Guardians. Some will block your path, others will be well hidden. Will you be able to bring back peace to these giant creatures?
Look for sick animals and cure them with fruits! Collect flowers, discover lost paintings... Many side quests await you in this feel-good world. Will you find them all?
Hi there! I'm Mathias and I've been creating video games since I was a child. I love coding, playing music and drawing. So what's better than creating a video game to do all of this at the same time? I do everything alone because I love every part of it and I'm a curious guy who likes to know how it works! I hope you'll like it :)
If you want to support me or learn more, don't hesitate to check out my website, where you can find all the links to social media, my patreon, my dev blog and all the games. Thank you so much!
Hello there!
It’s time for a quick game update! So, what’s new this month?
I have mainly focused on polishing various systems, including maps, dialogs, and some sounds:
Maps showing 2 floors of the same level.
Little interjections to give a bit more life to the character.
OK, with all these improvements plus working on the content of the 1st chapter, I can finally see the finish line for the demo release. In fact…
I have just completed a “release candidate” build and will start sharing keys for people to test. So stay tuned for the upcoming announcements! It’s a significant achievement for me after all these years to finally be able to consider a part of the game “DONE.” Of course, there will be bugs and things to fix, but in terms of content, intention, and quality, I believe it’s all there… (for the demo, of course, not for the final game).
Some new content: a species of flower.
Very soon, you will be able to tell all your friends, “Go check out this crazy indie dev” if you want to spread the word, of course :)
As for the rest of the game, another tester has completed it (making a total of 4 people, including myself). There is still a lot to correct and fix, but I am gradually bringing it up to the quality level of the demo.
The first playable version of the home island from 2014.
Final version of the home island. And yes, now you can see all the other islands in the world. Quite some progress!
Regarding the marketing, here are two main updates:
And, as always, I’ve been focusing on bug fixes and code cleaning. I won’t bore you with the details.
I hope you found this update interesting. As always, thank you so much for your support and patience, and I’ll see you next month!
Take care and peace!
It's really been a while. So I'll get back to posting news with this article: how did I improve the ocean render and the save system?

For the Windows demo, just unzip and run the .exe file. If you're interested in other versions (Mac OS or Linux), see the detailed description.
This is the last playable demo of World of Thieves. Still a lot to improve, but you can get an idea of the game ;)

That was really good. I had more fun than playing latest Assassin's Creed games. There might still be some work to do but it looks great already. Keep up the good work.
More fun than Assassin's Creed? Wow! I didn't expect that much! Anyways, thanks a lot for your time ^^
