Tempest Read Me

Thank you for downloading Tempest! Please note the project is in very early alpha, and as such has lots of bugs and problems!

To start Tempest, open D Drive>TempestFinal>Bin64>GameSDK

Main menu should open click Start Your Adventure to Start a Game and Abandon Ship to Exit.

In Tavern player must drink till they black out then first game level will be loaded.

Player must mutiny against captian to gain control of ship or jump overboard and make their own way.

There is a tutorial book on the ship which can be read using F when looking at it.

General Controls-

WASD - Movement

F - interaction key
E - For selected Items when prompted

Right click - zoom (no Weapon)

Left Click - Fire (with Weapon)

V - Melee (With all Weapons including swords)

Space - Jump

Shift - Sprint

C - Crouch

1-2 - Weapon Slots 1 & 2

7 - Cycle through weapons and holster weapons (use this to get to spyglass, if you have one)

P (when standing infront of navigation map) - Toggle map drawing on/off

O (when standing infront of flag drawing canvas) - Toggle flag drawing on/off

Sailing Controls

TAB (toggle) - Brings up ship commands if in charge of ship
Also brings up player HUD for ammo, health, gold
Q & E - Hold when in front of Wheel to Steer respectively

P (toggle) - Activate map to draw (use when standing in front of map)

O (toggle) - Activate flag to draw player flag (use when standing in front of flag)

Buy crew at ports in selected areas (F to restore crew with proper money amount)

Health

Eat food or rum to restore health
Rum will cause drunkeness.

Factions

Navy and Civilians will be neutral to players unless they are attacked then they will turn hostile.
Pirates are always hostile to player, crew, navy, and civilians.

Known Bugs
//////////

Reload key (R) sometimes does not work.
- Solution, holster weapon and re-draw.
Can't aim down pistol sights after being fired.
-Solution, switch or holster weapon to be able to aim again.
Picking up treasure when it is sometimes not there.
-Treasure is randomized so some treasure is hidden but not deactivated.
Shops, can go into negative money if buy key is spammed.(negative money has a box infront of total, minus symbol is not recognized by cryengine)
Rowboat will sometimes spawn under ship, If rowboat is up-side down the player can still row it up-side down.
-Need to re-set vec3's
Map can become blurry
-Solution: type r_motionblur 0 in to console
NPCs can disappear or fail to recognise player

Sails can flicker or render improperly

Ports can be especially laggy
