War of the Human Tanks is a story driven strategy game with a gameplay reminiscent of Battleship and Chess, featuring a story of war, loyalty, sacrifice and human shaped tanks. This story takes place in a land vaguely reminiscent of modern-day Japan. In the twenty years since the first Human Tank was developed, the war raging between the Empire of Japon and the Kingdom of Japon has turned into a proxy war fought between Human Tanks on both sides. The Empire of Japon once ruled the entire land of Japon. Now diminished and cornered, the Empire prepares to make its last stand as the tanks of the Kingdom of Japon draw close to its capital. Shoutaro Daihon'ei, Lieutenant of the Imperial Army moves out to the battlefield, followed closely by the loyal Human Tanks in his company.

The devs said the game was out, desura mark it as out in the versions changelog since 8 hours ago but I still can't install the full version, I'm stuck with downloading the demo, it says the full version isn't available yet and I can't find any stand alone download beside the demo either.
Is it normal? Is there a problem? Am I the only one who can't install that game?

No, you are not the only one.
Seems that Desura has not changed the Status in the client from Pre-Order to releases.
If you browse the page of the game while not logged in ( normal Webbrowser ), it still says pre-order at the buy button of the game.
I hope they change that soon.....

Ok, thanks, I'll just be patient then, I just wanted to be sure

Sorry for the delay. We're still waiting for Desura staff to set up the release details (normal and deluxe edition, and 10% launch week discount) properly, but for now we manually set the game to be released in about a minute so that people who already ordered the game can play.

Have fun!

There also seems to be a problem with downloading the Desura client version of the game. Not sure if it works for some people, I myself am getting a CRC error at the installation phase. Not sure if the CRC server is down (console says server not responding) or if there's something wrong with the file and/or its settings on Desura.

Until we can get hold of the staff, if you experience this problem please install the standalone version of the game instead.

After noticing this problem in the Desura client this morning, and confirming that I have it as well, I downloaded the standalone client, installed it and played untill the second chapter just to be sure that it is still working as we tested a couple of days ago.

The standalone version is working without any problems. Please grab that until Desura staff fixes the problem with the Desura client version.

You can find the standalone version on War of the Human Tanks page, under the Purchased Downloads tab to the right named War of the Human Tanks Deluxe EXE Installer.

Just a side note.
The Download of the game in Desura works now.....but it stopped now for me at 95% ....:( that is not one of the problems Desura have had?

Maybe they're looking into it now. I'm trying the download again to see if anything's changed.

Edit: it hasn't, still getting the server error at the end of the download.

If you are talking about the War of the Human Tanks Deluxe EXE Installer, it should download without any problems. Unless you lose connection because of your ISP or something. Sadly Desura doesn't seem to support resuming downloads when they lose connection. I realized that when I forgot that I was downloading and closed Firefox for a few seconds. When I started it back up hurriedly, I saw that the download was not resuming anymore, so I had to re-download.

It is good now.
A restart of Desura has resumed the DL.
Should try such stuff out first before posting it ^^

Edit:

Yeahh......maybe the servers are a bit arkward now, or something else is wrong.
Now i always get a

seems that the DL ( or whatever ) always gives me out a crc error for some files ( the crc-log mainly says something about MV10018.yukke and some other files ).
Think i will wait a few hours and try it then again..........hate it, only a few MB ( gues around 20-40 ) are missing for the DL to finish.

Seeing as we've received no response yet, it'd probably be faster to get the standalone version for now as echoMateria described above. That works at least, and I think you can manually connect it to the Desura client after installing.

EDIT: Alright, after looking around enough I think I found out the cause (though can't do anything manually to fix it), and mailed it to Desura support. Hopefully that'll speed up the solution.

When looking at our version history, I saw that the current version 1.01 is dated '1 day ago' and the much older version 1.0 is dated '15 hours ago', meaning what actually went live on the client upon release is version 1.0. Furthermore (or maybe that's the actual reason), they both have the same MCF number (Desura's CRC), even though they're slightly different on the inside. That's likely what's causing the CRC errors at the end - it downloads OK, but when files (of the 1.0 version which was downloaded) are compared to the MCF of proper version 1.01, they don't match.

Thanks for the update.
Will temporarly use the standalone installer until the problem is fixed.

Got in touch with support now. Turns out the reason for the problem isn't anything that exotic.
Desura servers have been overloaded since Friday, and the server that mirrors a chunk of the client installer is unresponsive. Once the spike settles, this will correct itself as the server in question will mirror the file chunk to other servers as well. When that is going to happen, they're not yet certain.
We'll have to keep an eye on it to see that the game installs properly once the server's up to speed again.

I'll quote:

"There isn't anything we can do other than suggest they grab the standalone. The traffic levels are through the roof. The spike is more than our normal growth rate and caught us off guard."

In other news, we got the regular edition of War of the Human Tanks up for sale now as well, but expect it'll experience the same issue and only Standalone installer will work for now.

Except not. Whenever I try to install it, I get the same error, at the same point of the process. Screenshot (a bit too large, so I rather just link it): Imageshack.us

I have redownloaded the exe three times already, tried to install it into different folders, nothing helped. I have a Windows XP Proffessional SP3, if that amtters. Any ideas?

Hi Warfoki
First thing I'd like you to check is that you have enough free space on your Windows installation partition (I'm guessing C:). Doesn't matter whether you're installing somewhere else. The file you're getting the error on is large (biggest part of the entire installation), so the temp files will take space (I suspect you'll need at least 2-3GB free during the installation). This is the common cause for this particular error (installer itself has been tested to work fine on XP too).

Please let us know once you checked that.
Cheers

Thanks for the advice, after clearing out some junk from C:, I was able to install the game without any problems whatsoever. :)

Great to hear, and happy hunting!

EDIT:
The problem has finally been resolved!

You can now install and play the Desura Client version normally.
