Set during the American civil war, War of Rights aims to bring players into the midst of several famous battles. Gameplay focused on realism will enable players to fully engross themselves into the ferocious combat of the era. Featuring several regiments, players will quickly learn the benefits of fighting together. An organized and tactically clever chain of command will be needed in order to succeed. Players will be able to enlist as different ranks spanning from Private to General of the army, each with its own distinct role and play style. Utilizing CryENGINE 3's sheer amount of power, getting as many players online as possible and thereby ensuring massive battles will be one of the priorities throughout the development.
While the union attacks concentrated on the northern flank and center of the battlefield, the southern flank was silent for a long while.
At about 10:00 AM, General Burnside tried to cross the Antietam at the Rohrbach's Bridge, which was later known as the Burnside Bridge. Two union advances were pushed back by 400 confederates - the 2nd and 20th Georgia regiment, under the command of General Toombs.
The third charge to take the bridge was at 12:30 PM. It was led by the 51st New York and the 51st Pennsylvania, who, with adequate artillery support and a promise that a recently canceled whiskey ration would be restored, if they were successfull, took the bridge after a gallant charge.
The tough Georgians had cost the Federals more than 500 casualties, giving up fewer than 160 themselves. They had stalled Burnside's assault on the southern flank for more than three hours.
Looks fantastic!
You guys are adding minutes to my life everytime you post a a new picture :D
Oh my, this is so beautiful.
I actually took a picture of me right there behind that wall like i was taking cover. That was only three weeks ago and seeing this is so close to the real thing i swear you had stolen my camera. Great work guys
It safe to say there is little (perhaps nothing) that excites me as much as WoR. I sincerely hope the crowdfunding goes well and you guys receive the attention you deserve.
Is that in game??!! Please say yes!! ;)
Every screenshot is made in game, yes.
But its still very early and lot of stuff will get improved/better during the upcoming development ;)
Unbelievable...keep up we are cheering you guys on!
How can you improve perfection?
This all looks great but I want updates on game mechanics. Eye candy is good for a while but please give us proper dev blogs, I know you're not obligated to, but it would be better than this. You could add this to the dev blogs and it would all have a better context.
Please read the latest field report for the current status of the project and why we're not showing much gameplay related stuff at the moment: Warofrights.com
I can only imagine a screenshot like this in the future at Devil's Den. I see this game going places guys! Keep it up!
This would be a very far future, since we are doing the Maryland Campaign of 1862 ;)
But I would love to see a Gettysburg battle one day too.
With the detail you are putting into this game,I'd be happy to see Antietam alone released in a year. I can see you guys going places with this game, so I know you will have plenty more for us
I might add that the tree beside the bridge would not have been so large at the time. It is only slightly larger present day, and the pictures of the battle show it as no more than a sapling. Not nitpicking, but i wanted to point that out
