picking up items Thread - Wander

i'm new to this and am trying to figure out how to pick up items like a starfish or flower

You can't pick up those items. Right now the characters don't have a way of picking or storing anything. I'm not sure if the devs are planning to change that in the future. Right now, it's a lot of wandering around, learning the lay of the land/sea, finding the glyphs that change you into different characters and listening to the lore stones. There is a dream weaving land you can also go to that is brand new where you can build things and create landscapes, but it's still in the creation stage for the most part.

Also, you'll want to note where all the shelters are located. You'll know you are in a shelter when there is a white circle around the flower in the lower left corner of your screen. These can be in buildings or caves. Eventually, the thunderstorms will come back and you'll need to get to a shelter to avoid using up spice points.

Spice is also turned off at this time. When they were first testing it, you could only find it up on floating island. There is a number indicator in the lower left area of your screen. Sometimes it's hard to see because the number is black. When spice comes back, you'll collect that so you can change into other characters when needed - such as changing into a small character to get into a tight place. It will cost spice to change or you can go to one of the glyphs and change for free.

There is a lot of things to discover and learn about at this point and the devs are always coming up with something new. If you're not already on the Google+ site for Wander the Game, come on over.
